Re: MIKE LINDELL

Reminds me of the select comfort sleep number beds. Hundreds of dollars for a rubber bladder, a few pieces of foam and small electric air pump. Yet to this day select comfort has a BBB rating of A+, despite a consumer review rating of 2% positive and a massive 95% negative. And hundred of complaint...

Re: MIKE LINDELL

Sounds like they must have had an issue with this in the early models. My wife and I bought ours about 2 years ago. We have never had this issue. In fact we haven't had any issues. Plus, I realized, through the ability to adjust firmess, that I need a much firmer bed to sleep better. I've always gon...

Re: MIKE LINDELL

I don't think the BBB rating is necessarily a reflection on the product more than a reflection on the company's customer service. I doubt that this pillow would still be around if everyone hated it. There's a reason why there are so many different options out there. Everyone has a different preferen...

Re: New to CPAP basic questions

Please do not read too much into the raw AHI number you are seeing on the machine. There are many times that it can be an artifact. This is why it is important to use sleepyhead to view your data. A lot of times you may have an arousal that results in an apnea event, but this is not a true apnea. Th...

Re: Are these Sleep apnea symptoms?

Just considering one of your symptoms, hot flashes. This is a sign of low T in men. Make sure you get it checked. If it is normal, then you can scratch that off the list. Low T does cause excessive fatigue as well. It can be caused by OSA. If you do test low, make sure they repeat the test with estr...

Re: Airsense 10 Upgrade for Detecting RERAs

Thanks for the help guys. I'm pretty sure all of the CAs are not real CAs. They come after some irregular breathing, which means that it is not a true CA. It is just a normal pause in breathing. But all of the hypopneas appear real. As for the OAs, some appear real and others appear like the CAs, af...

Re: Airsense 10 Upgrade for Detecting RERAs

I guess this is kind of a chicken or egg type of deal. Basically, I guess I'm saying the same thing you are. The flow rate changes denote an arousal. Whether this is due to an airway issue or the flow rate change is due to an arousal of some other cause, I think the fact that the flow rate changes s...

Re: Airsense 10 Upgrade for Detecting RERAs

In general, I'm a pretty healthy person. I get regular checkups with my doctor. I have good sleep hygeine. The bed is only for sleeping and sex. No TV or even books in bed. No naps, except when I randomly fall asleep watching TV from sheer exhaustion, which is one of my symptoms. I only drink one cu...

Re: Airsense 10 Upgrade for Detecting RERAs

My symptoms are excessive daytime sleepiness, unrefreshing sleep and easily fatigued. I had a sleep study performed. My AHI was 4.7, but I had an arousal index of 22.2, of which only 1.0 was due to respiratory events. My sleep doc mentioned possible UARS since the AHI was so low, but I still had the...

Re: Airsense 10 Upgrade for Detecting RERAs

I do understand that a true RERA requires an EEG to determine whether an arousal actually occurred. But currently, I'm barely seeing any hypopneas. I would think that the algorithm for determining RERA's might detect more of my breathing disruptions. I've attached a typical night and a close up to g...

Airsense 10 Upgrade for Detecting RERAs

I am currently using a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset. It was originally purchased about two years ago, although I only started using it 6 weeks ago. My understanding is that this model didn't start flagging RERAs until sometime last year. I am dealing with a possible UARS issue and would really like to...

Re: Newbie looking for help and advice

I appreciate your response, but I am looking for a little more information. I was hoping that people might have more info regarding some of the other points of my OP. Primarily from the 4th paragraph. It probably isn't obvious from my original post. So I'll list a few explicit questions. Is it norma...

Re: Newbie looking for help and advice

I am a back sleeper predominantly. I do end up on my side sometimes. But sleeping on anything but my back is very uncomfortable for me. I tried a nasal mask with a chinstrap. This worked OK, but wasn't the most comfortable. I switched to a full face mask after a couple of nights, because I do tend t...
