Re: F40 Mask Leaks
Depends what you read and who you listen to I guess. Lets listen to a peer-reviewed study. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10867908/ That's a very interesting study and puts things into perspective. It's very easy to get caught up in the 'must clean' narrative and like I said, I never used...

Re: F40 Mask Leaks
I wash the cushion and my face every night to help with the seal, I have run 'mask fit' a couple of times and thought I'd got it right, but it's still leaking. How are you washing it? Try washing less, maybe just an occasional wipe with a baby wipe. Cleaning too often is one of the biggest factors ...

Re: F40 Mask Leaks
Often those "farty" leaks during the night are from moisture that builds up on your face. Try removing or pulling the mask away from your face and wiping the cushion and your face with a tissue or cloth before replacing it. This is common with lots of masks with silicone cushions. Thank you for res...

F40 Mask Leaks
I love the F40 mask, but disappointed that the cushion has developed leaks this past 3 nights after less than 2 months use. It's the farty leaks that you just can't adjust out and to me, it's an indicator that the cushion has deteriorated and needs replacing. I wash the cushion and my face every nig...

Re: Does a 'short tube cover' exist?
Thanks again, that's good to know I'm not going to suddenly combust in my sleep
I shall likely buy a 2 metre one, which will cover most of the heated tube and all of the F40 extender.

Re: Does a 'short tube cover' exist?
Thanks Pugsy,
Rather expensive as it doubles in price with UK shipping.
Is it ok to use covers on ResMed heated tubes, or will they overheat? I could just buy a long one.

Does a 'short tube cover' exist?
I've never used tube covers as I have a heated tube. However, since I started using the AirFit F40 recently, I'm occasionally getting a little rainout. Condensation is forming in the short tube supplied with the mask, now that the outside temperature is dropping. Is there a short tube cover availabl...

Re: CS HEPA Filter for ResMed 10 & 11
Search Amazon for resmed filter cover adapter airsense 2097 bayonet I see them for both the 10 and 11 machines. As for filter restriction. These filters have much more surface area than the standard filter so less airflow resistance. In any case the machine compensates for any sort of restriction, ...

Re: CS HEPA Filter for ResMed 10 & 11
In theory this looks great! IF you're concerned about the stock filter being inadequate that is. In practice? It all depends on the quality and implementation of this design. These seems to be rather pricy. If I'm reading it right, three filters for $55? Including the 'adapter'? Yikes! The refills ...

Re: CS HEPA Filter for ResMed 10 & 11
I use an adapter on my Resmed 10 machines that lets you use 2097 Bayonet Filters. These are respirator filters, the most common one being P100 particle filters. They are very inexpensive and have a huge filter area. They are ugly, but very effective. The standard Resmed filters aren't great, and mo...

CS HEPA Filter for ResMed 10 & 11
What do we all think of this machine filter door modification? It looks like a really neat solution, but is there a problem to solve? ResMed do supply a hypoallergenic filter, but would that be as effective as this HEPA? The manufacturer does point out that it is not FDA approved, nor endorsed by Re...

Re: ResMed QuietAir exhalation vent mold concerns
Thanks for finding, but I think that's an old document as I can't see any ff mask newer than F10.
It's interesting though.

Re: ResMed QuietAir exhalation vent mold concerns
I agree with Dog, it shouldn't be an issue. But if you want to clean it you can. I don't seem to be able to attach a PDF, but if you Google airfit-n30i-p30i_disinfection-guide_amer_eng.pdf you will get the instructions for cleaning P30i and N30i for reuse with a different patient in a hospital sett...

Re: ResMed QuietAir exhalation vent mold concerns
It is not mold, it's staining, from pushing thousands of moist air containing tiny particles through it . And as usual Nick is full of shit. The only potential air that comes back through it would be: The first breath or two used to start the device with Smart Start enabled If one were to take in a...

ResMed QuietAir exhalation vent mold concerns
The QuietAir vent is used on several RedMed masks, in my case the F30. I will soon be getting an F40 and hopefully it will be a good upgrade. It's clever technology as it does indeed make the mask much quieter, which is great for me and also doesn't disturb my wife. However, I've seen a video that p...
