Re: Eucalyptus Oil in Humidifier for Sinus cure
My mum has severe asthma and has been putting eucalyptus oil in her BiPAP humidifier water every night for the past few years with absolutely no issues what so ever! It doesn't gum up the tubing.......although it might if you were to never clean it out, but with weekly maintenance it's no problems. ...

Re: My first few weeks of CPAP - for anyone unsure!
Ohhhh, I sure am! Thanks. This morning was my worst time - machine wise. It tried to kill me...lol. I was later getting to bed as it was (after 3am) and then the darn machine tried pumping far more air into me than I can cope with. My pressure is open - 4 to 20 at the moment cause the sleep tech wan...

Re: Time to shop for my CPAP!
My mum has bought two machines from Secondwind so far and I plan on buying mine from them. Because it's a medical device, you don't have to pay customs tax getting it into the country - not that they openly tell people usually. So if you buy from the US, make sure to contact customs to get the paper...

Awesome. Thanks for that.
I'll have to check that out later today. Or perhaps now......not sure I'll get much sleep after the little episode I just had with the machine! It's trying to turn me off.....lol.

Re: First week with CPAP machine (Resmed Airsense 10)
I'm a complete newbie to CPAP too......only had 4 nights so far. I'm on the AirSense 10 Auto. I can't imagine why they wouldn't haven't sold you an auto one! One thing that I was told sternly by the sleep tech (when I said I might need sleeping pills for my trouble getting to sleep before 2am) is th...

Re: Low events per hour, do i need a CPAP?
Thanks, I have seen those pillows in my CPAP searches.
I'm pretty fussy with pillows cause I end up with neck and shoulder aches, but I think I'm going to have to invest in one to try out!
When it comes to sleep, ya got to try everything ya can to get the max decent hours.

Re: My first few weeks of CPAP - for anyone unsure!
When I say, I'm better off with my Dr, I mean rather than the sleep tech. My Dr uses a CPAP machine or at least she use to a couple of years ago. But I know the people here will still have a better range of knowledge! Will the sleep tech know if I remove the SD card to upload the info on my computer...

Re: My first few weeks of CPAP - for anyone unsure!
I'm on my 4th night of a week trial. Or at least I go back to see the sleep tech after the week of use to see how I went. But my went rental cost me $150! And if I want to keep on renting it, it's $50 a week. I really just wanted to see how I coped using a machine cause I have a big issue with feeli...

Re: Nasal Pillows (P10) - sore entrance to nostrils, baggy eyes
I'm using the Swift FX nasal pillows and I noticed some stinging when I put them on friday night. I found what looked like a tiny blister just inside one nostril. I must have had the straps too tight the night before or something. I don't know if it can be from using the machine or not, but I'm pret...

Re: Low events per hour, do i need a CPAP?
It's awesome to see another Aussie! Thanks for all that info. That's fantastic. I'm pretty happy with how fast it has come down, not that my score was anywhere near what a lot of people have when they are first diagnosed, but will be cool to see it drop even more. I'm sitting on AHI 0.8. I haven't h...

Re: Low events per hour, do i need a CPAP?
As a totally newbie (just had my 2nd trial night on a CPAP) I wondered this exact same thing myself cause my AHI is down to only 2.2 on the first night. I have read many forum posts where people who have been on their machines for ages and their scores are still quite high, so was confused as to how...
