Re: Haven't posted here in a while . . .

Thank you for the feedback. Just woke up to another 0.0 ( 3 nights in a row now). Yes, I too think stopping without another sleep study would be foolishness. My next followup appointment with that Dr. isn't until January, so we'll see how things go between now and then. Getting the weight off and ke...

Haven't posted here in a while . . .

So I realize from previous posts I've made here that Resmed's MyAir data has little (if any) credibility here, and that if I were looking for advice, SleepyHead would be strongly suggested (though I still have no computer to run it on). But that's not why I'm posting today. When I had my sleep study...

Re: So Clean

. . . However, I don't always wear underwear. . . Yes, going commando has stopped my sinus infections and colds as well . . . Just kidding. I am not a "So Clean" user. Decided against it after reading a number of threads here. Though I've only been on CPAP a few months, my hose has never been washe...

Re: MIKE LINDELL

Reminds me of the select comfort sleep number beds. Hundreds of dollars for a rubber bladder, a few pieces of foam and small electric air pump. Yet to this day select comfort has a BBB rating of A+, despite a consumer review rating of 2% positive and a massive 95% negative. And hundred of complaint...

I am no expert and am pretty new to CPAP, but you might find this interesting/helpful. I stumbled onto it this morning while looking for something else.

Re: How long till you started noticing a difference?

Thanks, Chicago Granny . . .

I believe breathing at night goes a LOOOOOOOONG way to helping one sleep at night (sure seems that way to me, anyway). And I think sleep will eventually help me feel more energetic. Your tips are also wise. I'm working on many of them daily.

Re: How long till you started noticing a difference?

To all the folks who gave the OP honest answers based on their individual experiences, thank you. I was wondering the same thing ("How long . . . .") and found your answers to be extremely helpful. As for all the bickering here and on other posts on this forum, sometimes it's amusing and interesting...

Re: MyAir Scores

Since I don't own a computer and thus don't have sleepyhead available to me at the moment, I use the MyAir scores exclusively. since I started I score 100 pretty regularly, with the score occasionally dipping as low as 96. I know you all seem to think it's just a toy, but based on my scores, and the...

Re: A general question from a new CPAP user

Thanks, everyone, for the insights. I'll give it time and stick with it. Keeping fingers crossed that the last few nights are a good indicator as to what a typical night will be.

A general question from a new CPAP user

I've been on CPAP now for just over a week. With help from some folks here I believe I have my machine dialed in pretty well. Been sleeping like the dead, and average AHI has dropped from 54 on the first night of my sleep study to averaging just over 2 over the last week. haven't had any significant...

Re: New to CPAP

So when you say you're having trouble adjusting with the nasal pillows, tell us what you mean. And by the by, it would help us help you if you took the time to register as a user and login before making your posts. I'm pretty new here too, and love how "friendly and welcoming" some people are. It's...

Re: I'm new . . .

Thanks, Pugsy, for the link and the info. I checked the EPR and it is on and is set to be on all the time. I changed the ramp from Auto to 10 minutes. Now that I know how to access those kinds of settings, I can tweak things as needed. As for the sophomoric MyAir numbers, they are calculated based o...

Re: I'm new . . .

[quote] I'm not sure what pressure it starts up with. According to my report, the Dr. prescribed 8-18. The person at the DME set it to "Auto" with no ramp time (said I should just try it like that for a while). EPR ? I have no idea if I am or how to find out. I do very much appreciate the help and a...

Re: I'm new . . .

Well, I'm 2 nights in to treatment and so far, so good. I opted for the nose pillows and am pleased that seems to be working well (good fit, though I might try the small vs the medium size, and my mouth stays shut ! ) and hasn't moved or come off at all, and myAir shows only 1 leak last night. Final...

Re: I'm new . . .

I will keep an eye on the restless leg thing as treatment commences. I don't take meds, as the only one that was tried caused some pretty frightening hallucination like dreams. Don't ask what the stuff was, it was too long ago to remember. Though I do notice my legs still have that crawly feeling la...
