No change yet
I have been on my CPAP for a couple of weeks. I understand fully that things may take a while to kick in, though the various folks that posted that they saw an immediate impact as soon as they started haven't helped . All that said, I had hoped to notice at least SOME benefit, but nothing yet. While...

Is it sad....
...that I am thinking of going to bed a little early just so I can get more SleepyHead data to play with in the morning?
I think my priorities may be slightly out of whack!

Re: Why have prescription maximums (at least initially)?
The maximum setting is really not that big of a deal if the machine never goes there...If your max is set at 12 but you never go past 10 the maximum becomes a moot point. You could set it to 20 and it still wouldn't go past 12. Just because a machine can go somewhere doesn't mean that it will go th...

Re: Detailed user guide for SleepyHead
OMG...it was in the first folder I opened. I need to add it to my tutorial. Off to go do that right now before I forget. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=Beginner%27s_Guide_to_SleepyHead#pid73182 Thank you - that looks excellent on first glance and i am sure it will compliment your ow...

Re: Why have prescription maximums (at least initially)?
Per my message, it's SleepyHead that made me question why I have the maximum setchunkyfrog wrote:And get Sleepyhead so you know what happens and when.

Re: Why have prescription maximums (at least initially)?
Sometimes high pressures trigger CA's and/or bloating. Get a manual and change the pressure . It is only air. Oh I know HOW to change it - but I am just wary of changing anything, as a newbie, without first understanding whether it makes sense to do so. I would imagine newbies could easily mess wit...

Re: Detailed user guide for SleepyHead
I know that my thoughts are hard to follow sometimes...well often if truth be told... and I have a real problem with tending to write novels..makes for difficult following for sure. I know the tutorial needs some work and updating but again...since I hate it I will find every excuse in the world to...

Why have prescription maximums (at least initially)?
Curious to know what the value is in having a maximum for pressure with a prescription. My prescription is set to 6.0 - 12.0. I can understand the reason for the minimum, but not clear on why my machine would be restricted to 12. I am sure my doctor will be reviewing this data online and looking to ...

Re: Detailed user guide for SleepyHead
When I have some time I will see what's going on with the links. I told you I am not the greatest at composition..that's never been something I am good at. What I am good at is the technical evaluation stuff. I avoided all English or composition classes in college whenever I could get away with it....

Re: Detailed user guide for SleepyHead
Have you seen my tutorial on SleepyHead..top thread in the Announcements section of main forum page? It's not the greatest composition because it's hard for me to put my thoughts into words but it is at least something to get you started on understanding what you see on the reports. Read the tutori...

Detailed user guide for SleepyHead
I fear I am missing something about SleepyHead. I installed it a few days ago and now I am trying to interpret the data(bear mind that I am a newbie here so many of the terms are new to me). Looks like there's lots of good stuff there but the user guide seems more like just a series of (unexplained)...

Re: Waking in the middle of the night
Mark - FWIW this is part of what I wrote (in your thread) 3 days ago - "Don't confuse prescribed low/high pressure settings with ramp settings... the ramp is strictly a 'comfort' feature used mostly on an ongoing basis by those whose scripted low (or straight Cpap) setting is on the high side, mayb...

Re: Waking in the middle of the night
I feel the ramp is a joke/useless, at least when your min is in the single digits. I want to be close to the treatment level so I don't wake up from large changing pressures. That sounds kinda like what your experiencing. If you like numbers, something else to check is your data in sleepy head. If ...

Re: Waking in the middle of the night
Quick results of a very quick, unscientific test. I just put my mask on without any changes. At the initial ramp pressure of 4 I could sense just a tiny mount of difficulty in getting air, but not as pronounced as when I go to bed at night. No idea what that is about but there are so many variables ...
