Re: Cpap/Bipap
It's definitely OA's and hyponeas. Very little clearway apneas.
For example, last night I had 20 OA's and 25 hypopneas, 1 clearway apnea is 8 hours 13 minutes of sleep

Re: Cpap/Bipap
Yes I just checked and it is strictly a CPAP device. I did see I have a tear in my hose and just ordered a new one from Amazon. My AHI is .7 one day to 9.6 the next, then down to 5.5. It's really all over the place. Does the tear in the hose have anything to do with it? Does bumping up the pressure ...

Cpap/Bipap
Can someone explain the difference?
I'm having issues maintaining a stable AHI level. I currently have a Philips Dreamstation that from what I understand has the ability to do bipap as well.
Thanks!

Frustrated at my AHI Numbers
Ok so I've been using the cpap machine for about 4 months now. Recently my AHI #'s shot up way past 6 for at least twice a week. This has been happening for about a month now. One night it's 2.1 next it shoots up to 7.4, 6.6 etc. I don't get why it does that? I even upped the pressure from 10 to 11 ...

Re: NEwbie first day
Welcome! It took me about a week to get used to it, but once you do you'll be in love with rewarding sleep.
My best advice, be patient and don't be afraid to tweak the settings until you get it just right.

Dreammapper/Dreamstation Issues
Hello all. Having some issues with either the Dreamstation or the Dreammaper software. I'm getting different numbers from both. My machine says my AHI is 12.1 one night, but my dreammapper says 4.9 for the same night. Wth?!?! That's a HUGE difference! It's been doing it for the past few nights now (...

CPAP Cleaning
I was wondering if it is safe to clean the tubing, mask and humidifier tank with a little bit of hydrogen peroxiode? Obviously, I wouldn't use alcohol.
I usually use ordinary dish soap with hot water but sometimes I can smell the dishsoap at night during therapy.
Any suggestions?

Re: Another Good Night
Your machine will gather more data than what you are seeing on the machine or with DreamMapper. When you have time use the software available. https://sleep.tnet.com/equipment and see if you are having some other events (Flow limitations or RERAs or snores) which could maybe indicate less than opti...

Re: Another Good Night
Still feeling a little foggy when I get up though. Any suggestions? Do you wake often during those hours of cpap use? Do you take any medications? Any other health conditions going on that might impact how you sleep or feel? Pain? What is that AHI of 3.0 made up of? Anything else showing on the sof...

Re: Another Good Night
It can take up to a month for your brain to trust that thing on your face and that it will stop you from trying to kill your self at night according to my sleep doc. Once it trusts it will allow you to sleep deeply. Also remember that the damage done from years of bad sleep will take some time to r...

Another Good Night
Had another good night last night. 8.49 hours and an AHI of 3.
AHI seems to be holding steady at 3 for the past couple of nights. Considering that I was at 70 when I did my sleep study, it's a massive improvement.

Re: AHI Levels
Is it unrealistic to think it could be 0? Pretty much unrealistic IMHO. There's an apnea event called sleep onset central which will get flagged and there's nothing we can do about them nor do we need to unless they are present in numbers large enough to be a problem. There's also the fact that the...

Re: No CPAP => Nightmares
So, a few nights ago I ended up sleeping the whole night without the machine. I had the first nightmares I remember pretty much since starting to use the CPAP back in August. Last night, I woke up at 5am with my nose completely congested. Removed the CPAP and finished the night without. Again, load...
