Re: Custom headgear changes
Has she tried the Bleep? No straps! This mask was a godsend for me...I had a terrible time with straps slipping and causing leaking. Also, waking because the mask would slip off when the straps would slip. Might be worth a try. The Bleep's no-strap, minimalist design is a tantalizing option for my ...

Re: Custom headgear changes
Has she tried a mask liner? She has used the mask liners, but they didn't get the job done. If she likes the Liberty....have her take a look at the Respcare/Innomed Hybrid mask. It might be a little more stable. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/RespCare-Hybrid-CPAP-Mask Thanks for the suggestion. W...

Custom headgear changes
I've occasionally posted re my wife's ongoing struggle to find an adequate mask (never mind "perfect") for her head and face shape. Right now she's using the ResMed Liberty Mirage, which is the best so far. The Phillips Dreamware and ResMed Amara View are in the reject pile. One thing she just can't...

Full face mask for someone with only a small nose bridge
My wife has been diagnosed with apnea and hypopnea for many years, and also for many years while on CPAP treatment has had poor AHI scores (what Sleepyhead/Oscar calls "horrible"). Her mouth is often open when sleeping, so she uses a full face mask along with a cloth liner for comfort. We've tried s...

Re: Resmed S8 vs. S10
[snip] Resmed wants me to switch to the S10. According to the specifications it is 255 x 150 x 116 mm, about twice as big as the S8. And the power supply adds to the size. Is that true? Does anyone have pictures of S8 and S10 side by side? It seems your switch problem is resolved, however just in c...

Re: Thankful for battery backup during power outage
The underside of the cover has maybe 3/4" clearance above the side of the box, so it does indeed close. This 55AH battery is a near perfect fit. Good to know. Heavy I'm sure. For the record - is this the box from Cabelas you are talking about? Yep. https://i.imgur.com/J3UmDOym.jpg Here's the chargi...

Re: Thankful for battery backup during power outage
Due to the height of the battery terminals (sticking up just above the top of the box), the battery can only fit in the box one way, Does this mean the cover will not close? This is a 55ah battery right? The underside of the cover has maybe 3/4" clearance above the side of the box, so it does indee...

Re: Thankful for battery backup during power outage
@TRzzz, how did you mount or secure the battery inside the box? What did you use? TIA My original thinking was to use a strip of velcro on the floor of the box and on the bottom of the battery, but I decided to go cheap and repurpose the cardboard and styrofoam packing material in the box the batte...

Re: Thankful for battery backup during power outage
Have you found any heat buildup in the case? Do you vent it or use a fan? SLA AGM batteries generate no heat or meaningful fumes, so ventilation and cooling aren't needed. As a comparison, what size of Pelican case would accommodate your setup? For a 55Ah battery, the closest Pelican model would be...

Full parts list Atlas 55Ah battery https://www.apexbattery.com/apex-apx12-55-12v-55ah-sealed-lead-acid-battery-115362.html Sealed lead acid AGM batteries are available from many sources online. I chose this one based on a combination of cost and a weight I could easily carry (40 lbs). Cabela's Green...

Thankful for battery backup during power outage
In the wake of the recent hurricanes and the power outages they caused, I want to post an encouragement to anyone who relies on their CPAP but doesn't have a source of backup power that will cover you for several days to consider buying or building a backup power assembly. Where I live in eastern Ge...

Him: "Boy did I have a great night. Haven't felt this good in awhile."
Her: "Yeah? What happened?"
Him: "I blew a point two."
Her: "What?! How can you even stand up?"
Him: "Uh ... that's my AHI."

Re: New travel size machine- Resmed Air-Mini- coming soon
Does this mean when they announce the price, they will be giving us the schlaft? The sweepstakes terms and conditions state that the Grand Prize winner will receive "[a] Sponsor-selected $1,000 gift card and a voucher for an AirMini system and Mask (ARV: $1,999)". Subtract the gift card and the mas...

Re: New travel size machine- Resmed Air-Mini- coming soon
If you understand German, here is a Resmed promo released about 10 days ago showing people looking the AirMini and commenting on it. It is kept below camera level, so you never see it. You just get to listen to the guys commenting on it -- favorably, I assume. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3Wi_dv...

Does the headgear look like this from the back? https://1ada048568c2ff308fa8-b9e7874bc77692b1ff0a58eafcbba6bc.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/headgear-with-simplus-back-on-mannequin-cpapdotcom.jpg If so, the pony tail should be put between the upper and lower straps. If she does that, the big pile of hair shou...
