Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

When I asked, my doctor sent a note to the DME to up my min to 8. With that level of responsiveness I'm not terribly concerned about eschewing traditional channels.

Good luck to you as well.

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

I was responding to cumulative frustration over responses from both of you yesterday. I felt pushed into something I didn't feel comfortable doing, my attempts to decline diplomatically were shot down, and then pugsy suggested that I double down this morning when I did it anyway and my DME therapist...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

I may have felt more pressure than intended, and if I did, I apologize. "I don't believe you, so prove it" is needlessly confrontational to me. Some people are comfortable with this approach; I am not. I don't confront people until I believe I have a good reason to. They may not be God but they can ...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

OK. Stop. Time out. You're asking me to be confrontational with a person I just met . Even though I have no actual knowledge to help me judge who is in the right here. Using only what people on a forum that I just joined are telling me, when I have no actual knowledge over who is in the right here. ...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

She set it back and told me "It is not to be changed without a doctor's order."

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

Well I asked the DME tech about a chin strap, and she's shipping one. Also said to turn my moisture up to 4, and of course she noticed I turned up the pressure.

As far as sleeping, I couldn't say what's causing it besides the presence of the mask, and waking up to air blowing out my mouth.

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

Second night wasn't so great. Turned the min up to 7, but had more trouble sleeping and my wife says I was snoring really badly. Across the board it looks worse than last night. Woke up several times with the air going out my mouth, and I wonder if it's reporting these as central apneas. May need t...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

If they wonder how you figured out how to change it...tell them it's easy to find on the internet and laugh.
I'm thinking, "I'm a computer guy, figuring this stuff out is what I do."

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

I'm clearly thinking about this differently then. I figured there was a phase where I would be getting used to sleeping with it, after which an increased starting pressure would be easier to handle. I'm thinking for that I could turn on EZ-start, and set the min up to 7. May as well turn on opti-sta...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

And you're sure nobody's gonna call me up all cranky from my neurologist or my DME office?

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

Fair enough. I'll give the min 7 a shot tonight.

EDIT: And for what it's worth, "Let's let the QA team finish before we start tackling the defects" is more analogous to what I was thinking.

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

we (the community) need some programmers to take over and fork sleepyhead... the author has this habit of dumping mostly working but buggy stuff out and disappearing for many many months, while people work around his stuff. This is common with open source projects in general... with individuals ins...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

I'd raise the minimum pressure to 7, may need to be more, but the default factory fits nobody setting of 4 is too low. looks pretty good for a first night, how do you feel? I'll keep that in mind. I'm hoping the algorithm will raise it for me so I'll give it a week or so. Plus I would like to get s...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

never resize the screenshot... if you're talking about resizing the individual charts... well, er, bugs. how are you at c++? Individual charts. My C++ is fine, if a bit rusty. I haven't touched it in 7 years but I have some good books that will jog my memory. Drawing lines in OpenGL can result in i...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Getting my CPAP next week.

OK, third time's the charm. For some reason this time the graphs got all fiddly and the lines kept disappearing on me at random when I would resize it. Anyway, I should have the recommended (sans Flow Limit) graphs on the screenshot this time. Pugsy: I'm not overly worried about the centrals; I just...
