thanks for the replies.
it occurs to me that i'm also spending quite a bit of time awake with the machine on, because i can't go to sleep till the pain dies down.
isn't there something about false events recorded while you're awake?

Tramadol and Gabapentin
My AHI has mostly been under 1 for the first 8 months. Now I have a herniated disc and I've been using Tramadol and Gabapentin for the pain.
I notice that my AHI has hopped up over 3. Would that be the drugs, or the pain, or just coincidence?
Thanks!

what's that sound?
sometimes - and more often recently - when i'm just barely asleep or perhaps when i'm woken up by, a whooshing sound, as if the cpap is pumping air freely down the tube or ??? As soon as I breathe in through the nose pillows, the sound stops. Can someone tell me what that is? Doesn't seem to do any ...

Re: couple hours not logged
my wife tells me that she heard some light snoring, so i guess i had the nose pillows in and the machine off. the power of suggestion kept me asleep for a couple of hours that way. seems hard to believe.

Re: couple hours not logged
info was on lcd: after toggling the air, also in Sleep Report and on MyAir. Just skipped two hours. chip not in. everything else normal: no machine on/off, no power fail. the reasonable explanation is that i came back to bed and forgot to toggle on the air. but no way i slept two hours with nose pil...

couple hours not logged
i got up in the night last night, paused the machine, came back to bed, got up two hours later, and the machine did not log those two hours. came back to bed and it started logging again. is this a known problem, where the machine skips keeping track of usage time for a bit? i've been using the mach...

Re: Has anyone hit a score of 100 in myAir?
myAir counts getting up in the morning as one "mask off," which is all you're allowed, in order to get 100 (?). seems kind of harsh. some of us who want the 100 badly enough are forced to bring a bed pan or catheter to bed every night.

Re: hard to breathe. is this a mental thing?
auto mode, 6cm to 12cm. ramp 45 minutes (going from 5.9cm to 6cm) and this gets reset a couple of times at night when I get up, so a lot of the night I'm at 6cm. The max it goes to is 11.7cm. I made the ramp so long, keeping the pressure low for so long, because I didn't like the feeling when the pr...

hard to breathe. is this a mental thing?
first three months, no problems. then one morning i woke up after six hours on the cpap, took a break, started it again, and felt like i was breathing too deeply and too fast. i tried to slow down and take it easy, but couldn't sustain that and had to take the mask off. The initial pressure of 4: I'...

how long does a heated (resmed) hose usually last?
Insurance pays for a new heated hose every three months, but I thought I'd just stockpile them. Then, this morning, it got hard to breathe and I heard burbling. The hose had water in it. So much for stockpiling. The only care I gave the hose was to disconnect it once and a while. Washing it wouldn't...

panic at pressure of 4?
4 months of c-pap, 7.5 hours/night, AHI < 1, ramp of 45 minutes because i don't like the higher pressures. After 6.5 hours on the machine last night, I got up for a bit, then restarted it, so the pressure was at 4. Then i noticed that was I was breathing hard, seemed that i couldn't breathe. Tried s...

How accurate are CPAP machines for measuring AHI?
If my sleep clinic number was 26 and I go home and use a cpap and get a 0.0 (not the first time, but after a few months), how trustworthy is that number, relatively speaking? In the clinic, you're all wired up from head to foot and at home, the machine is just checking the pressure variations in you...
