Re: Discontinue machine use before sleep study? CSA

My doctor retired and the new one wants to do another study. I’ll ask the doc if taking a break before doing a new study is necessary.

Discontinue machine use before sleep study? CSA

I was diagnosed with central sleep apnea several years ago. I’m having another lab sleep study in 10 days. I seem to recall that you’re supposed to discontinue using your machine about a week before a new study because central apnea has a memory and the results won’t be correct. Does anyone know if ...

Re: ASV vs CPAP for Chronic Insomnia

I went from fixed pressure CPAP to ASV after I changed to a new sleep doc that correctly diagnosed me with mild central sleep apnea. (I paid for the new machine) My issues with aerophagia went away completely and I felt much more comfortable on ASV. Also, my AHI went to zero. I still have issues tak...

Re: Found a vitamin that has DRASTICALLY reduced my Central Sleep Apnea

I was diagnosed with CSA (central sleep apnea) with an AHI of 9 so I'm giving vitamin B1 before bed a try to see if my events go down at my next sleep study which is soon. My Resmed report is usually 0.0 AHI so the ASV machine is doing its job. So far I've had no negative effects and vitamin B1 is s...

Re: Sleep-onset central apneas are kicking my butt

I was diagnosed with CSA and sleep maintenance insomnia. After I failed CPAP I finally got an ASV machine which I tolerate well. I had to pay for the ASV machine out of pocket but it was worth it. For the insomnia I took Xanax but it is my understanding that benzodiazepines don’t allow you to reach ...

Re: How is N30i for active side sleepers

I use the Dreamwear with a $12 Amazon.com hose hanger and it works well. No flopping around with the hose and I can turn over side to side. I plan to try the N30i. My only complaint with the Dreamwear is the straps on the back slide up during the night.

Re: Brand new to ASV for Central Apnea. Need encouragement

I use an ASV machine. Maybe trying different masks will help. I tried several until I found one that I could tolerate. Dreamwear works for me but some need full face if they can’t keep their mouths shut.

Insurance denied ASV machine

Dx 2 years ago with an AHI of 9 mild sleep apnea and insurance allowed me a Resmed CPAP machine. After struggling for a year at 11 cm pressure I went for a 2nd opinion and a lab test (the first was at home test). My new doctor is wonderful and the new in lab study showed AHI of 16 and REM associated...
