Re: Off CPAP for life! LCHF now
I only shared in case someone out there was hopeless as I was. I don't plan on having to prove my 30lb loss with vanity pics...I've already gotten rid of nearly all of my clothes and am quite comfortable in my skin now. thx K

Re: Off CPAP for life! LCHF now
I did do another study and went from severe to mild about 6 months ago and I'm using commons sense and monitor how clear-headed I feel each morning. Though I do take your comments to heart and may recheck again just for that over-used term "closure." For the ones who think LCHF/Paleo/Keto is a one-o...

Off CPAP for life! LCHF now
Hi, I used to live on these forums when I first was diagnosed with Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I learned so much and ended up being one of those that did the full "Silence of the Lambs" look. I used the chinstrap (Ruby Puresom brand) and special 3M surgical paper-thin tape to seal my lips so I w...

max pressure as a default
after continual suffering w/insomnia even though my cpap works (mind is too active & can't remain or regain solid sleep during 2nd half of the night), I saw a sleep neurologist. She suggested to max the max pressure out. I was last suggest by the lab to go 11-14. She said she didn't understand why w...

FFM and vertical taping
I've been using a nasal mask, chinstrap and double taping 3M micropore tape horizontally across my lips. This is my current normal. I seem to recall reading that a lot of folks use the tape - but do so vertically. I just got my new FFM and will be experimenting with using the tape vertically on the ...

FFM fundamental ? Demoing masks
After having landed on being a nasal mask/pillow-chin-strap-double-taping user, I am anticipating the backup/sick mask inevitability. I tried the hybrid Mirage Liberty and think the nasal ports are too invasive. I also realized that my mouth will be open the entire night with the blow-fish cheeks. F...

Re: Next level specialist/referral?
Hi all. I realize I'm doing a bit of a scatter-spray with my questions. In order to get good advice I'm having to share the whole story and it's been a heck of a ride. I really appreciate hearing that it takes a solid year to really start seeing some changes. July diagnosed with severe OSA. Get CPAP...

Re: FFM ? not wide enough - bottom axis triangle
LSAT- Not there yet...seems like going from Fighter pilot to astronaut - plus from the little I've gleaned - the total face comes with it's variety of problems with more surface area to cover. But I'll keep percolating. Thanks

FFM ? not wide enough - bottom axis triangle
I just got the Simplus F&P medium. I see that they seem to measure by distance away from face. The mask feels great, but if the mask represents a triangle then the bottom line isn't wide enough, and when fully relaxed I'm getting slight leaks at both edges of my outer lips. So I had to tape. The who...

Landing the right mask/survey/what's your #?
How many different masks have you tried before staying with your current model? I'd be interested to see what the norm is. I'd also be curious how many years you've been a cpaper. So far I'm at 4 and I'm 2 months in from initial diagnosis. I imagine that once you've found one that you love...you sti...

FFM & open mouth
Realizing that I will be a full face mask user, what are the pitfalls of having an open mouth during sleep? The chinstrap and tape didn't work for me, does your body or mouth adjust to this, and does anyone actually wear a chinstrap in conjunction with a full face mask? Just trying to identify the p...

Returned the Quatro The very next day. After I heard the comments I danced with the devil, after my night I felt the same. Trying the Simplus F&P next. Thx all who weighed in

Brand new FFM arrived Mirage Quatro: many FFM?
Brief history - diagnosed early Aug. w Severe OSA - Started with nasal mask/switched to dreamwear nasal pillow/ from the start, discovered I was a jaw dropper, tried ruby chinstrap and the 3M tape for a while - still mouth puffs. So, ordered a FFM Mirage Quatro and am demoing it this afternoon. I ch...
