switched to a new mask
I was wearing a nasal mask but once the pressure got to it's peak my mouth wouldn't stay closed, even while wearing a strap. Stopped by the clinic and now I'm gonna try the Respironics Amara View face mask. I like how it doesn't go over the nose because over time my ability to breath through my nose...

Re: 2nd night on cpap
Could that number be elevated by me rearranging my mask a bunch? Definitely. If you remember rearranging the mask that means you were awake and often awake breathing irregularities get flagged by the machine when they really aren't related to sleep apnea. What pressure are you starting out the nigh...

Re: 2nd night on cpap
Could that number be elevated by me rearranging my mask a bunch? At this point I'm mainly focusing on being able to trust that I won't suffocate, and get through a full night of sleep with it. I have a follow up appt scheduled next month and I'll monitor the events/hour.

2nd night on cpap
I fell asleep on the couch and didn't sleep with the mask until 2am. I had a mini panic episode (which is very rare for me) as I initially laid down because my nose was super stuffy and there was barely any air coming in. I had a wave of "this won't work, I'm going to suffocate" and almost took the ...

Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset
F&P Eson nasal mask
I want to try the Swift or Airfit nasal pillow at some point. The first mask I tried was a good really soft, bendable rubber piece but I'm a side sleeper and with my beard the nasal mask was more "sturdy".

Got my machine today (Resmed Airsense 10)
Has some nice bells and whistles. Good/bad experiences with this one?
I will post my mask once I get home from work.

Re: Diagnosed with Severe OSA for the 2nd time...
Just like you, I ignored my first lab results way back in 2010. It was only this year that I admitted to myself that I really need to take OSA head on. I'm happy I did. Good luck with your therapy. Sent from heaven My dad had a heartattack in December, and had 0 energy and would fall asleep if he s...

Re: Diagnosed with Severe OSA for the 2nd time...
Will do, thanks. I remember waking up from the original sleep study and thinking "so this is what normal people feel like after sleeping?!" It was amazing. Looking forward to having that consistantly.

Diagnosed with Severe OSA for the 2nd time...
My entire life I have been told that I stop breathing while I sleep, and it was a common occurence to have jokes made in the morning about my snoring. My band stayed at a friend's house on a road trip, and the home owner was laughing while telling me she recorded me and urged me to watch the video. ...
