Dream Station Mask Leak Recording
Greetings, I am trying to understand on the Dream Station software basic Dream Mapper what Respironics considers to be an excessively high leak, which might affect my CPAP therapy results. Specifically my reading was mostly 100% successful leak rate but for the last 2 months, it has dropped to varie...

Re: BIG change in leaking status
Thank you all or your insight. I am baffled that I was doing so well with very few leak nights for 3 months and now every night has mega leaks fighting them all night at the mask. I didn't think about the headgear affecting it that much but that makes sense so I will expirement with changing that mo...

BIG change in leaking status
For the last week, I have gone from 100% no leak mask nightly to 76%- 65%-57% leakage using the same masks I have used for 3 months with successful results. I am fighting leaks all night long, which is unusual for my last 3 months. I have about 3 masks and using all of them is the same problem. I ca...

Re: CPAP therapy optimization - a cautionary tale
Great that you are feeling better. I also know that your AHI can be low . . .below 5. . .but part of the night when you are awake and no obstructions, you get a false reading and believe you are doing great with your therapy. After 8 weeks of CPAP, I am not feeling as good in the day as I would hope...

Re: Dream Station and Pugsy advice
I have been using CPAP with Dream Station and an airfit F10 full face mask for about 2 months, and it has taken advice from Pugsy, my trying varying starting pressures and max pressures to realize a successful .4 AHI last night, my best, with 0 obstructive apneas. Like you, the Dr set the wide open ...

Re: Cpap Mask Tightness
Thank you for all your great input and suggestions. I am off to try these ideas and realize that a lot of this looseness has to be tightness!!
Now. . . . if the low AHI recordings could really mean that you get a good night's restful sleep, then I can stretch out in the lounge chair. Oh MY!

Cpap Mask Tightness
In trying to stop leaks, I know not to tighten the straps too much on a Resmed Airfit F10 so as not to flatten the cushion effect, but sometimes they are pretty tight to get it stopped. I am not having headaches so how do you know the long term health effects of over tightening a mask. . . if any lo...

Re: Understanding AHI Confusion
Pugsy, Thanks for your time in answering this basic question without the graphs. . . and thanks for your clear explanation of what is going on. I am still working on figuring out the sleepyhead software and inputting my data from the machine to sleepyhead. I see there are a lot of posts about sleeph...

Re: Understanding AHI Confusion
So Pugsy, if my auto cpap machine dream station is set at 10.5 max and the 90% is bumping up against that pressure once in awhile but not every night, where should it be generally set to allow better coverage of the events? I increased my settings from 9 to 10.5 and it just seemed as though it conti...

I understand the recording info but were they treated by the machine satisfactorily or no?

Understanding AHI Confusion
Just checking my semi- newbie knowledge with experts. I had a bad recorded night last night and with deep sleep thought my AHI and apneas would be OK, however the AHI reading 4.5 wasn't bad but I had unusually high OA of 14 and total Hypopneas of 19 with 98% mask leakage. My question is: Did the mac...
