Re: CPAP Use + Chronic stuffy nose?

Are you referring to turbinate reduction? Who told you surgery is the best solution? The surgeon? Get a second opinion, please. If you go ahead, let no one touch you but the BEST, most qualified doctor. From the research I've done online, the most effective approach seems to be the surgery. I'm not...

CPAP Use + Chronic stuffy nose?

I use a full face mask with my CPAP because my nose is chronically pretty stuffed up - I have very inflamed Turbinates, which I'm seeing an ENT for. I take claritin daily, and have been prescribed a nasal steroid spray that I use at night to help with breathing through my nose. That said, I often ti...

Re: Could I ask for someone's help reading Sleepyhead data?

Looks like you inadvertently posted one night several times. Any idea what is causing the wake ups? Leaks? Mask fit or comfort? Just for no reason you know of? Do you take any medications? If so, what? The Centrals/CAs could just be secondary to arousals or wake ups. Do you have much trouble going ...

Could I ask for someone's help reading Sleepyhead data?

I have a lot of clear airway events, and I'm waking up quite a bit at night. With that said, my overall AHI is generally below 5. Could someone take a look to see if you have any suggestions? Thanks so much. I'm posting a few different nights of data http://i.imgur.com/yIp9RSCl.png http://i.imgur.co...

Consistently getting a lot of Clear Airway alerts on SH

I've been using CPAP for about a month now, and I"m feeling amazing vs. how I used to. I know it's working because I am not falling asleep instantly like I used to - it actually takes time to fall asleep now! With that said, the vast majority of my apnea events are clear airway apneas. The below is ...

Re: My mask was making a weird noise last night

Welp. I feel dumb asking about this, in hindsight. As a fan of science an physics.... i should have thought about this. I blame my sleepiness!

Thanks everyone

My mask was making a weird noise last night

I've been using the Amara View mask for the last two weeks, and so far it's been pretty good. Last night, though, I woke up hearing a weird noise every time i would breathe in. I was able to get a video of it which is on youtube It almost sounds like water is hitting something inside the mask when i...

Re: Sleepyhead reports high # of clear airway occurances

Sleepyhead screenshots attached. Any thoughts? second, I'd suggest lowering your min pressure to 12 for a couple of nights, and see how things look. I was thinking about that because the pressure got fairly uncomfortable at one point in the early morning. Going to try a few more days and then lower...

Re: Sleepyhead reports high # of clear airway occurances

Last night was your first night. I see at least two breaks in therapy where you turned the machine off so we know you were awake then. How about other times during the night? Did you find that you woke often for various reasons including just everything being so new? I wouldn't worry about the cent...

Sleepyhead reports high # of clear airway occurances

Hi all I finally got my APAP machine yesterday, and when I woke up this morning - feeling pretty good I might add! - I quickly downloaded my data into sleepyhead from my APAP. It appears that my AHI, which was 7.69 (vs. 17 diagnosis) was largely driven by clear airway occurrences, which I understand...

Re: Is this the right process?

Thanks for your insightful thoughts, everyone! I had the titration study last night, and aside from the occasional sleep interruption for the technician to come in and fix a sensor, I have to say... WOW! I slept like a baby, and today, while I still feel a little sleepy, my focus and energy level ha...

Is this the right process?

Hey all About a month ago, I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea - AHI came in at 17 as diagnosed by an at home sleep study. After I was told this, my doctor said that I have to do a titration (sp?) study before I can get a CPAP machine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with today's auto-adjusting CPAP machi...
