Re: Mouth Breathing
There are also these http://www.snoringdevicesthatwork.com/chinup-strip-review/ I haven't tried them but am interested. The Chin-ups look like they might work for someone who doesn't blow air through their lips while their jaw is closed. My problem is I blow air though my teeth and lips when my jaw...

Re: Mouth Breathing
another very similar thing I've heard is to take a terry cloth sweatband that'd you'd normally wear on your forehead, and pull that down over your lips... same thing, encourages them to stay closed, but isn't cumbersome or painful to remove like tape. get several, just toss 'em in the wash. Great i...

Re: Mouth Breathing
I have "open mouth syndrome" and tried full face masks, but couldn't get a good seal. Then I tried a chin strap, but air escaped through my flapping lips even though my jaw was shut. The noise kept waking my wife. The final solution was to take an old necktie, cut it to length, and sew Velcro onto t...

Re: Occasional Blockage During Exhalation
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm due for another sleep study. I checked the pressure on my machine this morning using a u-tube manometer to make sure it was putting out 14 cm-H2O and it was. But since it's about 8 years old, it's probably time for a new one. I'll talk to the doctor about that.

Re: Machine makes me yawn
I agree that yawning can be a response to low O2. There's an easy way to monitor your O2. Get an inexpensive SpO2 meter at a pharmacy that you wear on your finger. The one I have can track my O2 all night and give me the min, max, and average. Normal SpO2 should be around 95% to 100%, although my do...

Re: Occasional Blockage During Exhalation
Thanks. Good ideas. I try to stay on my side, but some of those ideas might keep me from rolling onto my back.

Occasional Blockage During Exhalation
A couple of times I've woken up because I can't exhale. This only happens when I'm on my back. It's not a problem with exhaling against the CPAP pressure. The pressure doesn't bother me. My tongue or soft pallet blocks my throat when this happens. After I wake up, I can feel he blockage come and go ...
