How do you keep your 2nd cpap machine?
I have noticed that there are a lot of people here keeping more than 1 cpap. For me, I am going to have 2 identical cpap machines. My primary reason of getting a 2nd one was because it was cheap and had the same function as my original one. I am just worried if I keep the 2nd one idle too much, ther...

Re: What are the risks of setting the pressure higher than neede
For starters, a too-high setting can provoke central apnea, where the problem is not an obstruction like your tongue falling back, but your brain not being triggered to breathe... a neurological problem that's difficult to solve and that requires a special type of machine. If you have 'only' nasal ...

What are the risks of setting the pressure higher than neede
if it is free of risks, why do they need a RX for the machine? Will you get lung diseases or other implications if you have set the pressure wrong? I am a heavy nose blocker and it is really helping me to sleep. I don't really have to have sleep apnea in order to use the machine. Is there anything I...

Do you purchase two cpap and use one as a backup?
I don't frequently travel but I feel that it is good to have a backup.
Is it necessary or just a waste?
For me, I probably travel a week in 2 months.
Do you think it is not necessary?
It may probably be left there idle most of the time.

Re: Whats the treatment if CPAP machine does nothing?
I feel like better like after a month when it had totally no effects in the first month.
But I am not sure if the effect is consistent. I need to wait and see.
But mark me that it is the 1st day when I do feel refreshed after starting cpap.

Re: may have found out why still tired after using cpap
I feel like I am getting better, more energetic each day.
Before that, I was constantly feeling tired.
It is quite a different feeling.
I just wonder if the cpap effect kicks in or airflow inlet really matters.
or just some random effects.

Re: may have found out why still tired after using cpap
um... you think it is not related, right? in a word: "correct". I want you to try this with the board in the closed position to see if you can still get a good night sleep well, since that's not even close to what you've described your alleged setup is, I'll just assume that's some more of your typ...

Mine looks like this but the back is not open.
Instead of putting it on top, I put it down below.

Re: may have found out why still tired after using cpap
I would have been able to breath but not been getting fresh air with good oxygen level because it is a space that air could hardly flow in and out. The thing is like I am getting good breathing but because of the low oxygen level, it compensates the amount of oxygen that I should be getting. you al...

may have found out why still tired after using cpap
From the first day I received the machine, I had been placing it in the drawer space where the original drawer was taken out. It is because I was told that the machine is extremely sensitive to shocks and any movements or droppings could result in non-repairable damages. Therefore I took great care ...

Re: Low AHI but still sleepy... Mouth breathing?
If you are doing any mouth breathing it sure isn't enough to create any large leaks or leaks bad enough that the machine can't compensate. Now if you wake often because of tiny mouth leaks or something like that then we would want to fix those issues. But in terms of compromising the therapy itself...

Low AHI but still sleepy... Mouth breathing?
Hi, I have been using cpap for nearly 4 weeks but I still feel sleepy during the day. The sleep has not been very refreshing. I wonder if I had mouth breathing. Please take a look and let me know where I could get clues from the graphs. Thanks http://i64.tinypic.com/2heivkw.png http://i68.tinypic.co...

Re: How much is a set of home Sleep apnea kit?
I could not locate where I could buy it. After failing so many sleep tests due to nervousness, I think the only way I can get a proper diagnosis is to have my own kits so that I don't have to bear the stress of being unable to fall asleep. Do you know where I can buy one? what ARE you talking about...
