Re: Respiration rate
Hi all, I'm having a mooch around the boards today, downloading my Sleepyhead data etc and trying to understand it. A couple of questions; - Respiration rate. Mine hits 50 every night. Is that 50 breaths a minute? I don't think I could breathe that quickly when awake! What could it indicate? - Clea...

reducing AHI and flex or epr
I wanted to give an update on my progress and will start with the specifics The key to reducing my AHI, in addition to finding the best min setting, was reducing/eliminating the flex setting; the difference between inhale and exhale pressure. For me, this was a possibly-necessary two month process. ...

Re: Your opinion and aflex cflex
Pugsy, I have 5 days that are relatively consistent and the timing for the first burst of OA is 1-2 hours after laying down. This is consistent with the sleep stage info you referenced. I even found an objective data point that seems to confirm REM . The first REM period (OA burst) seems to last 60 ...

Re: Your opinion and aflex cflex
Pugsy, googling rem was sure useful. I didn't realize the cycles or the timing. It seems that REM fits what is happening, but let me give you a little data. If it is REM and then hopefully the deeper stages following I may not have hit that type of REM sleep in months. I am going to use aflex and cf...

Re: Your opinion and aflex cflex
Pugsy,
REM sleep would be awesome. REM/better sleep has been the goal and I didn't realize the extra pressure possibly required during REM. I thought it was a bad thing, but it could be good and does make sense.
Thanks!

Your opinion and aflex cflex
I am seeing an odd response to a change from aflex2 to cflex1 and wanted to get your input. While on aflex2 I was able to reduce hypopnea and eliminate OA by increasing the minimum pressure to 9-9.5. This seemed to completely eliminate the OA except possibly when I rolled on my back, which is rare. ...

two months and finally making progress
Hi, I've read and learned a lot from this blog. Thank You! What a caring bunch! Since this is my first post, a little detail: diagnosed with ~12AHI and using a dreamstation with humidifier. For the first two months I was using the mask that covered nose and mouth from resmed. F10 I think. The leaks ...
