Re: Too Much Aromatherapy Oil, Possible Machine Damage?
I not really sure that oils on a cloth a few inches away could get into your machine, but I can say that I've experienced residual aromatherapy scent that lingers for a day or two after the oil source is removed. A few days into my therapy I decided to try a peppermint oil as my sinuses were a bit c...

Re: Camping.
If access to electricity is a negating factor of what it means to camp, then xPAP is one hell of a detriment to the lifestyles of many users. Many campsites offer electricity in modern-day in addition to "primitive" site options without. I have never seen an affordable battery-pack option that would...

Re: Camping.
I have an 8' extension cord on a 5 outlet surge up to 2k joules. It fits in my case along with the power cords, mask and brick.

Re: Camping.
I'm camping in Golden Gate Canyon, CO right now at 9800 ft. I just packed up my machine and set it up once we got here. Nothing special. Do take a surge protector/extension cord though and a jug of distilled water if you use humidification. I don't camp or travel enough to consider a travel machine....

Re: infection on nose and lips where mask doesn't touch
OP-- I hope you're well on the road to recovery from your infection! I am and have only a few small scabs left on the tip of my nose to finish healing. I still have a few days left on Bactrim and I'm also still using the Mupirocin ointment prescribed, too. As far as taking precautions against reinfe...

Re: infection on nose and lips where mask doesn't touch
I am actually recovering right now from a staph infection that started off as a "pimple" in my nose that I popped and ended up spreading it across my nose. My infection started in my right nostril on the septum about 1/2 cm from the end of my nose. I was using a nasal mask when the infection started...

Re: Running out of water during sleep
I occasionally run into the issue of my humidifier drying out at night, but it has a direct correlation with the settings of my home's AC. My humidity setting is at 4 with a heated tube setting at 83 degrees and I do run the warmup mode. A larger water reservoir would be nice, but for me, it's far f...

Re: Just got my CPAP Today
I'm excited for you! I'm new to xPAP therapy and am one of the folks who saw and felt an improvement literally overnight and took to wearing a mask easily. I hope your first night is great!

Re: Temporary suggestion to improve pillow comfort
I didn't think of putting the ointment on the pillows. I am disinfecting them daily and letting them soak in a 50/50 distilled white vinegar and water solution while I get ready for work in the morning after washing them. Sheets and pillowcases have all been washed in Sanitize mode and my husband is...

Re: Temporary suggestion to improve pillow comfort
I'm on an antibiotic blast of 7 days of 3x day cephalexin 500mg and have to keep it covered in Mupirocin 2% ointment during the day, inside and outside of my nose. Doctor ordered me an extra set of pillows and said to use my current one until the infection is gone. At night she said I'm ok to just u...

Re: Temporary suggestion to improve pillow comfort
Ugh. Woke up this morning with more redness spread up over my nose. Went to the doctor's office and found out it wasn't a pimple.

Re: Magnesium and Apnea
I take Mg once a day about 2 hours before bedtime. I don't have RLS and I don't lack it in my diet, however it's more of a precaution against a deficiency as I take a diuretic in conjunction with Cozaar to treat hypertension. I haven't noticed any difference since I started taking it (about 9 months...

Re: Are nasel pillows for low pressure treatment only?
My pressure is 6-14 with an average at 12 and I don't have issues with my nasal pillows. My leak rate is less with the pillows than with my previous nose mask.

Re: Temporary suggestion to improve pillow comfort
I think the biggest challenge with my old mask was the fact that I am a stomach/side sleeper, so regardless of the mask's fit, there were bound to be pressure points on my face once my cheek hit the pillow (for my head). Unfortunately for me, that pressure point was the front of my nose. Woke up thi...
