Re: Nose bridge pain!

I discovered this morning that I can push the bottom cushion of the Amara View up a little to get my mouth out to fuss at the dog for barking when I was trying to sleep. He shut up and the cushion sealed right back in place.

Re: how many masks have you tried

I started APAP on Friday, June 17th with a medium size Resmed Quattro FX FFM. I called the DME Monday to request a different mask. The Quattro FX was too big for me and it leaked. Couldn't stand having something on the bridge of my nose and by my eyes. I finally got a small Resperonics Amara View on...

Re: Cpap use and fluid on eardrum

That would be a good question to submit to Dr. Bernstein. Have you had an A1C test done? Do you know what your blood sugar is? Any time your blood sugar goes over 140 you could be doing damage to your body. If you eat a lot of carbs you could be nibbling away at your body. So I would say yes, even w...

Re: Airsense 10 or Philips Dreamstation

No palerider. While the machine is running I can press the smaller ramp button next to the on/off button to select another 30 minutes of ramp.

Re: DME Reports vs SleepyHead Reports

I do plan to take my SleepyHead reports when I go for my next visit. I doubt she will think the reports are inaccurate. She's a pretty good pulmonary specialist. My sister used to work for her and she treated my father and now treats my mother so I know her backround. She is very direct and will lig...

Re: Cpap use and fluid on eardrum

I was wondering the same thing. Is the fluid on the inside or outside of the eardrum. If it's inside I would think decongestants could help. Also elevating the head of the bed so gravity will help. That doctor seems like he doesn't want to be bothered unless your ears become infected. My exhusband h...

Re: Airsense 10 or Philips Dreamstation

I have the Dreamstation. The ramp goes on for 30 minutes and if you are not sleeping you can press a button right on top to start the ramp again. The DME told me the Airsense does not have that button so you have to go into settings to restart ramp. I used ramp for a few days but I don't anymore.

Re: DME Reports vs SleepyHead Reports

My understanding from the DME was I need to bring the SD card to them to print the reports for the doctor. I'll verify that with the doctor's office. I always want to know just what is reported to the doctor. I was left in the dark years ago when I had an Upper GI to look for one thing but they also...

Re: has anyone done at home sleep study's?

Ask what type of machine the will give you to do the home sleep study. I've seen videos showing machines with electrodes you need to attach and a belt for your chest. The machine my GP gave me to use was only a headpiece. It was trash! It stopped working after 2 hours. I paid the copay at the time b...

Re: Mask change to Amara View

I was on my back before I fell asleep and I was messing around with the new mask. I reset the machine to X1 to match the mask and changed the ramp from 4 to 6.5. I haven't been using ramp for several days but I did last night. So I guess just ignore the beginning. Tonight I won't use ramp at all so ...

Re: Mask change to Amara View

I slept through the night with the Amara View for a total of 7:24. My AHI is 3.78 for last night, compared to the lowest night of 5.12 with the Quattro FX. I did wake up with more eye swelling than usual but I don't know if it's the mask or a new eye cream I used. I didn't feel any leaks by my eyes....

Re: DME Reports vs SleepyHead Reports

Well if they are giving the doctor more information than they gave me I expect them to give it to me too. I believe in a patient's right to their own information. I'll see what the doctor wants a week or so before my appointment. I have to call to see if I need lab work anyway. I like to keep a file...

Not in this case. The sentence continues...since I started using the APAP on 6/17/16. I'm a new APAP user.

DME Reports vs SleepyHead Reports

I brought my SD card to the DME when I went to change my mask today and asked for a report since I started using the APAP on 6/17/16. Boy, their report is sorely lacking in detail. There is no information about any events. How is the doctor to know what types of apnea I am having? Does the doctor ge...

Mask change to Amara View

I went to the DME today and swapped out the Quattro FX medium for the Amara View small. It felt so much more comfortable when I tried it on. I can't wait to use it tonight. I should be able to wear my glasses if needed now too. The Quattro FX was too big and so uncomfortable since I started using it...
