Re: Nose bridge pain!
Thank you all so much for your replies! I tried the hybrid mask with nasal pillows and mouth piece and HATED IT, and I really, really gave it a good try (longer than I should have!) Every time I thought the pillows were positioned in my nostrils correctly I would make a tiny move and they were out. ...

Nose bridge pain!
I've only had my CPAP for a couple weeks now, but I have such severe pain on my nasal bridge when I wake up! Should I just tough it out or would you recommend trying a different mask? I really love the fit and feel of the mask except when I wake up. I'm actually starting to get a blister on the brid...

Re: Newly diagnosed...HELP!
some people mouth breath because their noses are stuffed, and some of 'em find that the pressure from the cpap opens up their nose enough that they don't NEED to mouth breath, and after a while, they get used to nose breathing with cpap.... as always, YMMV. That's what I was hoping for, I MIGHT be ...

Re: Newly diagnosed...HELP!
About the sex questions, I figured it would be awkward to go at it masked up, but I wasn't sure if there were some masks that were easier to remove than others? it varies depending on the mask, my first mask, a full face one, would take me maybe 10-15 seconds to put on, and 5 to take off... my curr...

Re: Newly diagnosed...HELP!
I wouldn't base your choice on this because fit and seAL are most important, without that your fighting against the therapy . Good luck ![/quote]
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Newly diagnosed...HELP!
If you ever plan to camp with the CPAP on battery power, the Philips Respironics auto units will run on 12-volt power rather than the 24 volts of the Resmed, which require an expensive up-converter (12V-24V) to work. Both are great machines. Also keep in mind, a used or discontinued machine like th...

Re: Nasal Pillows?
If you don't wear a full face mask (vs nasal) and you mouth breathe, you lose lots of therapy air that way, and your AHI shoots up, never mind how lousy you feel the next day or that you have a very dry mouth. Pillows may seem cool, but if they don't do the job, you need to use other methods/masks....

Re: Cleaning Tips!
Hi, you don't 'clean' the machine itself, just dust-wipe occasionally, so don't worry about it and whatever you do stay away from 'So-Clean', touted as a magical cleaner for Cpaps which is in fact useless, and close to a scam... ignore it! Secondly, you don't have to do anything with the hoses as t...

Cleaning Tips!
So I'm getting my CPAP this week and I'm curious what others think about the "cleaning machines". I'm kind of a germaphobe, so I like the idea of being able to clean my machine, but don't want all the hassle if it's really not necessary! Thoughts? How often do you clean your machine and how do you d...

Nasal Pillows?
I'm planning to get my CPAP this week, just curious what those who wear nasal pillows think? I read a review once that said you can't breath through your mouth with it on...I know I sleep with my mouth wide open right now, but I like the idea of the nasal pillows...any advice? Thanks in advance!

Re: Newly diagnosed...HELP!
Oh my goodness, thank you all so much for your much needed advice! I tried to call the docs office today but never heard back, so I think I'll try to call the insurance company tomorrow and see where I get! About the sex questions, I figured it would be awkward to go at it masked up, but I wasn't su...

Newly diagnosed...HELP!
Hello all! I was recently diagnosed with OSA with an AHI of 16.7 during an at home 3 night sleep study. According to my new pulmonologist I likely have a higher AHI as these studies tend to UNDERestimate the events. Nonetheless...I have an appointment with the equipment people this Friday and need s...
