Re: PR system one 560 has residue inside.

#2 I had another friend once whose family started using some type of large humidifier for the home to combat some cold weather respiratory issues. They used local tap water which was extremely hard, something like 220+ ppm calcium which is in the "it does not get any harder than this" category, plu...

Re: Resmed P10 enough fresh air?

Does anyone notice that the P10 doesn’t allow much fresh air out the vent? It seems that I am rebreathing quite a bit of the same air. I switched back to the Swift which has more vented air and I feel far more refreshed in the morning. I use P10 and have run into this issue many times making it see...

Re: PR system one 560 has residue inside.

Other than from people who have wood-burning fireplaces or similar (heavy carbon/soot creating) heaters.......not really. Those of us who live in dusty parts of the country need to make sure all of our filters fit their openings well. I've only had one of my machines open a couple of times, but did...

PR system one 560 has residue inside.

I noticed that the display screen was cloudy recently. I removed the protective clear plastic and it was not that. I separated the humidifier and found a blotchy cloudy residue on the mating surfaces. It wiped off with my finger and i used a damp cloth to clean it up. I always use the ultra-fine and...

Re: OT - Net Neutrality

Net Neutrality is a good thing and should not be rescinded. Their is only one Internet and it's the Information super highway. It should be Neutral. I may have a choice of internet providers but what i do on the internet once I pay for the service should not be hindered or accelerated to sites that ...

Re: Is EPR best avoided?

Believe what you want. Yes, I disagree and when you tell people they can get more than 2 cm reduction using Flex..I will come behind you and show the manual where it plainly says 2 cm max reduction. The manual trumps SH. I actually i believe only what the manual shows. The Manual says that at the E...

this one's thick as a brick. :shaking head: I give up. http://i.imgur.com/q4EZ40T.gif People see what they want to see no matter what is in front of them. Sometimes Mark did us no favors including information like this that hasn't been thoroughly vetted and there's no way to vet it with Respironics...

Re: Is EPR best avoided?

I suspect it will Max out at 3 when you Hit a max Ipap of 20 but I have never gone that high in my actual treatment pressure to say for sure. Not according to what Respironics says. Please note the comments I have circled. "No more than 2 cm below the high point of the inspiration". That means the ...

Re: New CPAP prescription: ResMed or Respironics Dream Machine

The newest ResMed Airsense 10 Autos now have the option of Soft or Standard Auto algorithms. Do the older Airsense 10's update to the latest firmware over the cell connections? If not, can they be manually updated? I have not heard of any of the older Airsense 10's being updated. In theory Resmed c...

Re: Is EPR best avoided?

From Respironics.... http://i.imgur.com/F81Oxbtl.jpg Interesting that it does not agree with the actual data I see on sleepyhead with my 60 series Apap. makes me wonder if I can really trust any of the pressure data reported by the machine in sleepyhead? I the end I guess it does not really matter....

Re: Flow limitation question

I sure wish the machines were capable of reporting REM sleep. I think that takes electrodes, maybe near the eyes? to register eye movement typical of REM...? I rarely remember dreams, and wonder sometimes how much REM I'm getting. That actually is considered a good thing. I wake several times durin...

Re: Is EPR best avoided?

Flex exhale relief on the Respironics machines is similar in that it creates a bilevel situation but the most most reduction that Respironics Flex relief will offer is 2 cm and that's based on flow rate so if a person is a shallow breather they may not even get 2 at the max setting of 3. That has n...

Re: New CPAP prescription: ResMed or Respironics Dream Machine

The newest ResMed Airsense 10 Autos now have the option of Soft or Standard Auto algorithms. Previously you had to purchase the ResMed Airsense 10 for Her Model to get the Soft Algorithm option. From ResMed the For Her Algorithm was described as follows: One of the most innovative features of the Ai...
