Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Just checked with Philips and my old recalled System One now has an order number and projected shipping time of April of this year. It looks like philips is working on replacing the Systems ones in the pipeline now. A new DS2 replacement was delivered by FEDEX today for my Older system one 550P , I...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

After selecting receive Apap with default settings a couple weeks ago for my recalled system one and the portal was updated 48 hours later to reflect that choice. I found last week that the patient portal reset once again to prescription required. I selected the default Apap again and now it reflect...

"Chemophobes should retreat. (But they won't.) " Philips Respironics has total responsibility for starting this voluntary recall and the fear and concern It has caused users of their equipment. personally I didn't think it was a issue at first but if Philips Respironics states it is and issues a vol...

Re: First Night Experience: Sensitive Ears - Advice Appreciated

Hopefully it's only temporary as you first adjust to cpap use. Ear Nose & throat are all connected and air pressure from Cpap can affect the ear. I had this issue and it caused a fullness feeling and sometimes ache in one or both of my ears. This seemed to be worse in the winter months or when conge...

Re: Gas Stoves and Apnea

I have all Gas appliances but have no problem replacing with electric when they need replacement. I gather Gas appliances are safe as long as they are vented to the outdoors properly. Heater, Hot water heater and Dryer are all vented. Stoves/ovens seem to be the biggest problem as many don't have a ...

Re: Got an email from PR for settings and not sure what to do. Also rants.

Have you checked the recall patient Portal. They added a option to receive a Auto Cpap with default settings instead of providing prescription settings recently. I would call and ask them to update your record to show you want a DS1 replacement and not a DS2 I have called the Toll free number a few ...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I purchased my System one Nov 2016 from Cpap.com so it's only 6 years 2 months old. I took it apart today and the Foam was completely intact and came right out in one piece. I could not see any degradation visually with it. The inside of the machine was very dusty and had a lot of white dust in air ...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Here is a System one Foam removal Video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQnJAF3bm98 I Have not removed the foam in mine but it looks easy enough. I don't see where the Foam is actually in the airflow Path in the video but it must be or why the need to recall. I found this info online "The whole bot...

Re: Insurance changed my CPAP equipment (presumably without notifying my doctor)

Considering the Autoset 11 is more expensive than the older 10 I would think the DME would love to give you the 10 if they had them in stock and would meet insurance compliance requirements.
Cpap.com was selling the Autoset 10 for as low as $399 during the Holidays and they are out of stock now.

Autoset is the proprietary name of a machine carried by Resmed.
Respironics can never give you an "Autoset".
Their auto machines are simply "auto". . .
Noted & updated to "Auto Cpap"

Re: Just Received Two Replacement DS1s via Recall - Has Anyone Else Received DS1s Instead of DS2s? New or Refurbished?

System one is covered by the recall. The 5 year product lifespan statement from philips referred to the fact system one was no longer manufactured and would be replaced with a DS1 or DS2 Philips has added more hoops to jump thru and now want a recent prescription from my doctor before replacement. M...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

There is a good chance that many more of the machines on the market may have foam issues and that Philips, for all our complaining, is the only manufacturer that owned up to the issue. My Goodknight 420 CPAP from 2005-6 had foam that had turned to mush when I dissembled it prior to disposal a few y...
