Re: ASV curiosity
yeah, you can really see that in the last couple I posted. Where they aren't really breaths and it is just kind of slightly passing above/below 0 quickly. Agreed looking at the graphs with the ASV, you just don't see that. the ASV really does an amazing job of smoothing out the breathing patterns. W...

Re: ASV curiosity
okay. I went back to October 3rd and pulled a slightly worse than average night. I've grabbed a shot of the entire night, and then focused on one area where it went high twice.

ASV curiosity
I took it upon myself a few weeks ago to switch myself from a straight cpap at 16, to an ASV machine as I was starting to feel tired again, and couldn't seem to get any consistency in my AHI scores. I have severe apnea (my untreated score was around 59) My cpap scores weren't really bad, but some ni...

Re: What does it feel like to use an ASV CPAP if you don’t need it?
Well, here's my experience. I used a fixed cpap machine at a pressure of 16 for about 2 years. Worked fairly well but every morning work up feeling like an overinflated beach ball. My AHI averaged anywhere from about 1 to 5 (but usually closer to 5). I tried various things to bring that down but the...

Re: Brand new to ASV for Central Apnea. Need encouragement
I switched from a cpap to an ASV about a week ago. Best thing I ever did.

Re: Maybe a success story?
I do have to say though, after using a straight cpap for 2 years, using the ASV felt a tad strange when you were awake before falling asleep. Feeling it correct for what your breathing was doing felt definitely different.

Re: Maybe a success story?
Thanks for the confirmation Pugsy. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope it stays this way..
One quick question. I noticed no Central category on the event graph for this machine. I assume this is because the backup rate in these machines basically doesn't allow them to start?

Maybe a success story?
Just looking for some of the regulars to have a look here, but I think I have a bit of a success here. My issue was I have been on a straight cpap machine anywhere from 14-16 pressure for about 2 years. Over the last while I found my AHI was creeping back up, I was finding myself tired in the mornin...

Re: Am I running into limitation of having a cpap
Better night last night. Sleepyhead is acting correctly and marking events as normal. Was tired so went to bed early, ran a 2.72 all night. If you toss out the bit of waking up crap at the end, its closer to 2.00. Had a few leaks at the beginning until I woke up and re-adjusted the mask. After that,...

Re: Am I running into limitation of having a cpap
I had a more thorough look through the graph, and yep, there are definitely some events in there that sleepyhead just isn't flagging. At this point, I think I'll just leave at 16 see what surprises tomorrow's data brings.

Re: Am I running into limitation of having a cpap
Well, I bumped my pressure from 15 to 16 last night, and got some interesting results, though I'm having a hard time quite believing what sleepyhead is telling me. I think I might have run into some kind of bug. A little explanation. First off, the display on the airsense says I ran with 3.5 events ...

Re: Am I running into limitation of having a cpap
should I have been given an auto.. yep most likely. Unfortunately back then this is what the doctor prescribed, and I didn't know any different. Also, insurance wouldn't pay for an auto (said it wasn't required), and I didn't know any better. Hence my question. Am I just completely screwed here give...
