Re: Aircurve 10 VAuto internal maintenance picture.

... this is easily one of the most spiteful, hateful forums I've seen. I definitely agree... I only come to this forum if I'm in a good mood, prepared to see tons of name calling. And yup, that's what I find... Then after reading for a few minutes I leave in disgust. That's why I come here less and...

Re: New model - ResMed AirStart 10 CPAP has compliance data only

I'm having difficulty understanding what's so bad that ResMed introduced this model, probably because I'm not in the US and don't quite understand your healthcare/insurance system. I would have thought that this would be a nice cheap backup/travel CPAP in cases I don't mind not having data. Or maybe...

Maybe the Effexor was prescribed for depression/anxiety?

Re: dried hose with machine w/ water in tank? safe???

That IS a stupid "test"! It has nothing to do with reality........using a CPAP every night. Guys, guys... It was a hypothetical test. I didn't want you to do it for real, but to imagine it. Of course I wasn't expecting you to do it... The point I was trying to make is that there ARE contaminants in...

Re: dried hose with machine w/ water in tank? safe???

Do this test for me: put some distilled water in a transparent hose, then forget it in a closet for a couple of weeks to a month. I guarantee you won't like the slime that will gave grown inside. Yet that filth came from the same air you breathe. I see that every year with the hose of my portable A...

Re: dried hose with machine w/ water in tank? safe???

Well, there's lots of contaminants in the air, just getting ready for the appropriate conditions to breed and get in enough concentrations to infect someone. Some people need less concentrations than others to get sick. Some even need to live in plastic bubbles... The appropriate conditions for grow...

Re: dried hose with machine w/ water in tank? safe???

so, your "fears" are overblown Oh, if you're speaking to me, I have no "fear" (I'm not the OP). But I am gathering information to decide if I'll clean it or not. I'm told by Resmed/doctor/therapist to clean it every week, but I'm really looking for excuses NOT to clean it every week (it's a hassle ...

We're at least two strange ones . I get that sensation too.

Filtered humid air. My hose occasionally gets some water condensation. Wouldn't that water be a nice place to grow mold/bacteria?

Re: SleepyHead showing different results than Resmed myAir?

I see some discrepancies as well from time to time.
The biggest differences occurred when I forgot to put my SD card back into the machine. In those cases, the reported AHI in SleepyHead is way lower than the one reported by MyAir/AirSense (0.63 vs. 3.0).

Re: New to CPAP... do I need an ASV?

So I stopped taking my Norvasc meds, and started feeling better the very next day! Now I'm just "normal" tired, instead of brain-dead zombie tired. Also, my AHI numbers are going down, so the CPAP may be the correct therapy for me once the centrals subside. So the "wait and see" approach seems like ...

Re: New to CPAP... do I need an ASV?

Wow, thanks for all that information. This gives me lots to think about. I will see what my doc thinks of my situation. I'll schedule an appointment next week. No I don't have congestive heart failure, so that's OK. I did try using the EPR at 3. Actually that's where I started at, but there's no rea...

Re: New to CPAP... do I need an ASV?

Thanks for the kind reply, Pugsy. I am aware that I wake up a few times during the night, very briefly. Maybe 4-5 times? I may wake up more often when I have mouth leaks. Since my mouth leaks don't seem to disappear completely, I'll purchase a chin strap and see if that helps. Oh boy, I'm not sure i...
