Does Apnea ever resolve itself?
I was diagnosed with OA in 2012 with AHI of 39 and loud snoring. I had zero confidence in the sleep study and did nothing until around 2014 when I bought a used S9 and tried it for 9 months. Some success initially but ultimately (after about 9 months) did not see sustained improvement in the way I f...

Re: Staying Asleep
Sleepy, the P10 is my first and only. Because of insurance deductible, everything has been out of pocket so far. I will probably wait another month before looking at another option. I am in Houston and will likely go over and vi it this sites sponsor. Thanks for the suggestion

Re: Staying Asleep
At one time, my doc had some concerns about restless leg. Some testing ruled that out. My last sleep study was in 2012 and they specifically commented that there was no limb movement noted. I have no idea why but I have always flopped around like a fish out of water as I sleep. Since starting CPAP, ...

Staying Asleep
I am still fairly new to CPAP. After 2-1/2 months, my AHI numbers look great - typically well under 1.0. I have noticed some definite improvements. I feel much stronger. My body recovers much faster from hard physical work than it used to. I used to have some occasional acid reflux and that has comp...

Machine recommendation
I have a friend that has been on cpap for 15 years and he has decided that he wants to get a new machine. He is only interested is a basic brick-no efficacy data and no APAP. He's happy with what he has been using. Because of insurance deductible, this will be paid out of pocket. Cost is a big deal ...

Re: First night pressure question
Thanks for the replys. I likely did sleep on my back starting out. I was so worried about the mask not sealing, that I was nervous about sleeping on my side. Reducing my max pressure makes a lot of sense to me-especially till I get a little more used to things. I was really surprised that the first ...

Re: First night pressure question
I did have some nasal congestion so possibly that was the issue? So, should I just leave the settings as they are for a few days as I get used to using the machine & mask? I did take it off after 5 hours but I guess that's part of the adjustment period. This is all really overwhelming when you first...

Re: First night pressure question
Ok, Going to try first attempt at posting SleepyHead charts. As originally noted, I am trying to find out why the pressure started out so high (or so it seemed as a first time user). Can I change any settings to make my second night more comfortable? The Ramp was turned off last night and maybe that...

Re: First night pressure question
I felt like the pressure was high but this was my first night on my machine. I saw the high pressure from Sleepyhead this morning. Maybe the data can better illustrate when I can get it posted
Thanks,
Greg

First night pressure question
So last night was first with APAP machine. I will read up on posting Sleepyhead data today but for now a short question. I had my machine set with no ramp, min pressure of 6.0, max of 18.0. My median pressure was 7.6. So my question is why the pressure jumped up to 15.6 within minutes of starting an...

Newbie - Purchase new or used??
I am obviously new here and looking for some advice. I had a sleep study 4 years ago and was told I had severe sleep apnia with AHI of 39. So, I am a little stubborn and decided not to persue CPAP until now. I have a high deductable insurance plan and would have to pay the cost of the titration stud...
