Re: One Handed

I have a full face mask. I think I could do it by only taking off one clip rather than 2. I am not sure. I also presume your other hand will be in pain and you will need to baby it a little. If you have to elevate it, can you have the cushion ready so once the mask is one your work is done? This is ...

Help interpreting the data

I am relatively new to cpap. I have been on since late December and I am still trying to find my way. I have improved and no longer need to nap everyday but I would still like more energy. I was told someone could give me a few pointers on the data. I was on sleepyhead but it doesn't seem to show as...

Re: What are the chances my insurance will cover a new machine??

May I jump in with a question about the AirFit F10? It seems most people here have the P10. I have been doing this since January and I am not where I need to be to feel good. I feel better but am still sleepy and need naps a few times a week. It seems I have replaced the mask almost monthly. I under...

Re: Sleep Training Infant on Bipap

I realize I am not on the cutting edge of parenting but I didn't like crying it out. My daughter slept with us and that is what worked for us. I understand that is unappealing and unusual for Americans but it did work. My daughter slept in the middle but if you have a cpap machine, your child could ...

Re: Overwhelmed - don't understand the data

Thanks so much. I didn't even know 1 was a goal. My doctor and DME guy just basically told me to use it. It was all about the machine mechanics. No mention of leaking or how to know if I was benefitting. I have been reading all over the this site. Turns out my mac doesn't have an sd card slot. I am ...

Re: Overwhelmed - don't understand the data

Thanks so much. This is more complex than my doctor lead me to believe. I also didn't realize it was a balancing act. My number is 9, it starts at 4 and ramps up over 45 min. I feel so good learning there is room for improvement. I am now off to sleepyhead.

Re: Overwhelmed - don't understand the data

Thanks everyone. Would it be fair to say the most important thing is to have the AHI below 5? I am trying to get more than 7 hours sleep. I presume that will help.

Overwhelmed - don't understand the data

I have been on the CPAP for several months. I have adjusted but I am not certain if I am maximizing my benefits. I still get tired some days and I wonder if I should be doing something more. I am using the Resmed program and can't understand some of the results. Here are a few examples from the cale...

Re: 3 1/2 Months In & Could Use Some Help

ChicagoGranny's list is terrific. I would add make sure the room is dark. Heavy curtains help. It can also be beneficial to remove your phone/laptop/computer from the room. I removed my computer because the little green light that pulsed annoyed me. It was tiny but a nuisance. I have a friend who pu...

Re: New User Exhausted Next Day

My doctor didn't say anything about tweaking the numbers or following on line. I am going to try sleepyhead so I can maximize my benefits.

Re: Skin sensitivities, please help :)

I had similar but not as bad problems after about a month. I work up with the red triangle on my face and small zits around the corner of my mouth. I also had a problem with drooling. Yuk I know. I am a mouth breather and my mask pushes my lower lip just enough so that I am comfortable and breather ...

Re: New User Exhausted Next Day

It took me a few weeks to feel the full benefits. i was so sleep deprived, it took time to catch up.

Re: Equipment Questions after 3 months use

Thanks for all the wise words. The only thing that seems to break down for me is the cushion around the mask. It is the soft plastic that surrounds my mouth and nose. The air can leak out when it gets too soft. I thought this was part of the mask. Is it possible to remove it and put a new one on? If...

Equipment Questions after 3 months use

I have been using my cpap for 3+ months. I was diagnosed with moderate to severe sleep apnea. I finally did something after years of being tired. I took action because it suddenly became worse. I was taking long naps on the weekend and it limited my life. I am unsure about when to replace equipment....
