ASV, our lord, and savior!
So here's a follow up to an earlier post of mine from a month or two ago, where my treatment with an A10 AutoSet has regressed to pre-treatment, due to the sudden onset of cheyne-stokes respiration. Yesterday, I got my AirCurve 10 CS PaceWave in hand from the hospital. Slept 10 hours last night. htt...

Re: Rate my first night with FFM
This is only the second night with the new pressure/settings. The first night looked real good and this one only had the one bad CA string. I don't know the significants of the CA string, but I would give it a bit longer. Others on this board might have a better answer for you. Sadly the first nigh...

Rate my first night with FFM
Here's background: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t111445/Confusing-regression.html I've made a few changes to try to tease out why I've been sleeping worse the last 5 months. Here's what I've done: - Increase minimum pressure to 6 - Disable EPR - Gotten a full-face mask(Quattro Air) Here's the r...

Re: Just got new Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet
The Myair results, though very simple, show that I am scoring well with very little leaks. What do you see by logging into that system that is not readily available on the machine display? Nothing. Here's what it shows from my data: http://i.imgur.com/PjFAqYS.png You can then go to a 14 day overvie...

Re: Confusing regression
Sounds like you have the food/diet thing under great control and I wouldn't be too concerned about any 'relationship' now between food and AHIs, which unless you're gaining weight and/or eating a lot just prior to bedtime, would normally be a non-issue. Nope, definitely not an issue. I'm down 24 po...

Re: Confusing regression
Concerta suppresses appetite so I wonder what your eating habits are. At what point/s in the day do you take your medication and when do you eat. Food does affect AHI and an increase/decrease in Concerta could affect your AHIs. Interesting. What's the relation between food and AHI? My food intake b...

Re: Just got new Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet
I switched from the S9 Autoset to an A10 Autoset last week. The new machine is really great. It's quieter for sure, smaller(Fits nicely on my table, and the hose is now in a better location), and the pressure feels a little "nicer". The fact that the LCD adjusts brightness based on the room, the sma...

Re: Confusing regression
I raised the minimum pressure up to 6, since the average pressure for the week was 6.1 anyway. According to the numbers, it was MUCH better. But in reality, I remember waking up every hour or so. I'll give this another night, as seeing a nurse tomorrow about this. It looks like there still could be ...

Re: Confusing regression
You have a machine that can do fixed pressure right now. So you can run that experiment right now while you are waiting to be seen by the doc. There's no need to wait. Strings of CAs can be caused by a number of things. If switching from APAP to CPAP happens to eliminate the CAs, then you've gotten...

Re: Confusing regression
2) well, first, your pressures are very low. a fixed pressure might help, I'd definitely raise the min pressure to 7 or 8. That's the odd thing. My low pressure has served me super well so far. Hence my surprise that it suddenly doesn't work well anymore, despite improving all the things that shoul...

Re: Confusing regression
Hi Julie, Yes, I've search Google, and pubmed for any suggestions that Concerta/Methylphenidate/Ritalin could either increase, or decrease AHI. I've seen nothing to suggest it could change the AHI in any way. In fact, it seems to be extensively used for sleepiness persistent, even after CPAP treatme...

Confusing regression
Hi, I've been using CPAP since 2014. I started out with S9 Autoset, and a Mirage FX. Both have worked out great, until recently where I've regressed significantly. I'm waiting to see doctors, following my not-so-great PSG. But where I live, there's no specialized sleep doctors in the country. So I'm...
