If you are ever curious about checking against various virus engines, https://www.virustotal.com/ lets you upload the file and it will verify against a lot of engines whether or not something might have a virus in it.

Re: First Night with Dreamstation & Pillow Mask, Sore Nose
There is very little adjustment for the Airfit P10, you either move the second strap to the top or move it to the back, thats it. They have a tendency to get over stretched, so I don't want to mess with doing that too much. They do now make these things that help you pull them tighter though if it d...

Re: First Night with Dreamstation & Pillow Mask, Sore Nose

First Night with Dreamstation & Pillow Mask, Sore Nose
Did my first night with any kind of CPAP machine last night. My nose is a bit raw from the AirFit P10 pillow, but slept well once I did finally fall asleep. The dream mapper software says I hit an AHI of 3.9, no air leaks, my sleep study said I had an AHI of 47. Mouth isn't dry, though initially it ...

Re: Meeting with Doc to Get Sleep Study Results Tomorrow
Met with the doctor, he gave me several print outs. Basically hit an AHI of 47 and oxygen levels got as low as 83% but remained mostly at 94 and below. They are going to try to get me an auto pap without another study if the insurance approves, otherwise I have to do another study. They say my insur...

Re: Meeting with Doc to Get Sleep Study Results Tomorrow
Thanks for the advice. Pretty much sounds like what I assumed regarding the two main brands. The technician apparently has been doing this stuff for a decade or more, so has a lot of experience I assume with this stuff, but ya, it wasn't her job to diagnose me. Small throat, short neck, tonsil in th...

Meeting with Doc to Get Sleep Study Results Tomorrow
Finally meeting with the doctor tomorrow to discuss the results of the sleep study I did (there was no mask/cpap testing). Any recommendations on things I need to bring or advice on what to ask? Sleep technician saw hypopnea and a little bit of apnea, but that's the extent of my knowledge at this po...

Re: Newbie Gearing Up for Sleep Study Tomorrow
Just got back from the sleep study and cleaning all that goo out of the hair. The sleep technician said she thinks I likely have Hypopnea (very shallow breathing, sometimes called partial sleep apnea) and did stop breathing in the study, but it didn't meet their threshold to put me on a cpap machine...

Re: pillows
I have a completely buckwheat hull pillow that I use off and on, would that be as effective as the special one that is posted earlier? Or does that one have something special to it?

Re: Newbie Gearing Up for Sleep Study Tomorrow
I'm hoping I will be okay with sleeping with the stuff on. I've taught meditation for a few years and have been doing it for over a decade now. Even been able to endure a cavity numbing agent not quite numbing it all without the dentist knowing the pain I felt. I at least hope the wires and things s...

Re: Newbie Gearing Up for Sleep Study Tomorrow
Definitely been inspecting different sites, kind of looks like second wind is where a lot of folks go for slightly used ones that are more affordable. Just been trying to get an idea of brands to stick to, kind of sounds like respironics and resmed are the main two brands to stick to. Then verify ag...

Newbie Gearing Up for Sleep Study Tomorrow
Last monday I saw a sleep doctor, I originally scheduled it back in February and they had one cancellation, so got in a week early. After an excessive questionnaire about sleepiness/tiredness with the nurse, finally saw him. He showed me that my throat was too small and there was a tonsil partially ...
