Re: Several questions on sleep apnea

Let's see some stats from Sleepyhead soft ware. Your brain takes time to trust the therapy and allow you to sleep deeply. The more you use it the better. Instead of rewarding its vigilance keep pushing. Also your AHI is barely adequate - it should be much closer to 1. http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/...

Several questions on sleep apnea

Question 1: I'm MUCH more tired when I use my CPAP--my AHI are under 5 when using it (and 10 without it), my leak rate is normal, and I've used several mask types. My doctor has no idea why the CPAP makes me so tired, so he proposed a multiple sleep latency test. If I know I don't have narcolepsy or...

Mirtazapine (Remeron) 15mg for sleep apnea?

I've been trying to get acclimated to my masks; I can't seem to get comfortable enough to have my CPAP on all night. I read a research study that suggests 15mg of the anti-depressant Remeron is effective for treating sleep apnea (up to 52% reduction in AHI). I took it for a few days and feel too tir...

Re: Worse off using my CPAP (depression/lethargy amplified)

Thanks for the replies so far! To answer some of the questions you had I'll post the data from my "Overview" tab. You may need to actually zoom out (holding "Cntrl" & "-" usually zooms out) to see the entire graph on here.

Re: Worse off using my CPAP (depression/lethargy amplified)

You said you chose 'noteworthy' nights to show us... does that mean all are anomalous, or are they typical? Over any given time (e.g. weeks, months) anyone can have odd nights where things look off, strange, etc, but it's the overall picture that counts, and how you feel, not the one-in-15 night wh...

Worse off using my CPAP (depression/lethargy amplified)

I've been using a CPAP for about three months now. My original in-clinic sleep study (<1 hour ["REM was not recorded" the tech noted]) indicated an AHI of 10, so I was given the F&P ICON Auto CPAP machine & the Pilairo Q Nasal Pillow mask. I was highly optimistic once I got the machine, as I have ma...

Best way to post data from Sleepyhead v0.9.8?

Hi all, this is my first post on the website (I've been reading the posts on here since I got my CPAP three months ago though--great community!). I am having some pretty bad leakage and AHI with my new mask; manipulating my pressure range fails to ameliorate this problem, though. I'd like to post so...
