Re: restless sleep
I can't sleep with my machine unless I use a noise generator. Its not that my machine is noisy (ResMed S10, now ASV) as much as I hear the noise changing as I breath. I use a small Electrofan noise generator set right next to the inlet side of the machine. I also have found that some masks are noisi...

Re: ResMed AirFit N30i
I had an issue with the strap slipping up the back of my head when I moved around on the pillow causing large leaks. I discovered that the headgear for the Respironics DreamWear pillows mask fits the N30i and P30i quite nicely. It eliminated most of my leak problems. Its is the newer one that has 2 ...

Re: Best Masks for High Pressure Settings
I just tried the ResMed AirTouch N30i nasal mask for the first time. The AirTouch N30i uses an impregnated cloth rather than the inflatable silicone. I was impressed. I couldn't use the silicone version of the N30i (AirFit) because it leaked too much, the AirTouch with the cloth seal was much better...

Re: Need nasal pillows recommendations
I use both the Respironics DreamWear pillows and the ResMed P30i. They are very similar, there are things that I like about each. I sleep on my back and both sides, but not on my stomach. Both are double vent, one at the top and another in the pillows. I don't have any problem if one side hose is cr...

Re: Constant Arousals - ASV Troubleshooting
I have complex apnea and have switched to an AirCurve 10. I find that setting the minimum support to 0 helps. If the machine needs more it will take it. When I used APAP, EPR increased the number of central apneas dramatically. The minimum support acts a lot like EPR since it creates a constant diff...

Re: AirCurve 10 ASV humidity settings
I've used a machine so long that heated hoses didn't exist when I started. For years I made them my self, but I don't suggest that. If it were me, I'd work on the noise rather than the hose thing. I am quite sensitive to noise, I'm not you, but here are some things that have worked for me. 1. Don't ...

Re: Sleep problems for which there is no diagnosis, please help
I'm very sorry for your condition. I have long COVID, but not nearly to the degree you do. The number of awakenings you have is similar to what happens with sleep apnea so it's not surprising how you feel and your extended sleep schedule, yours is very similar to my untreated sleep apnea. I'm not su...

Re: New CPAP User
If it were me I'd go back to the doctor and see if you can get a real sleep lab titration, at least if you have insurance to cover it. AHI of 9.9 is double the minimum that's considered successful treatment, and high enough to be prescribed a machine if you didn't have one. You have more airway (cen...

Re: Newbie CPAP user with a few questions...
I would add that if you are still experiencing daytime sleepiness and your AHI is over 5 even occasionally, especially if its just below that the rest of the time it would be worth while talking with your doctor. I've used a machine for almost 20 years. I wish I had been more insistent the beginning...

Re: Anyone used the Snore circle YA50G?
I get where you are coming from if you are backpacking. I had my Z1 repaired after traveling with it for 5 years or so. a It was pretty expensive repair but I keep it because its low power and much more practical to run on battery than the S10, the Z1 will run directly from a 12V battery. I don't re...

Re: Airsense 10, AT&T and service code
Those are codes for the frequencies used by AT&T. The -109 dB is the signal level, its extremely low, if you have connectivity problems that is the problem.

Re: Anyone used the Snore circle YA50G?
For the $500 they are asking you can find a used machine that's a known quantity. There are several companies that sell tested/refurbished used machines online. I've purchased a couple travel machines that way. I still have a Z1 that I got used about 10 years ago. Its not a great machine but works O...

Re: Recommendations for low-profile earmuffs/noise reduction sleep masks?
I've used a noise machine for many years. It masks other noises, and makes sudden noises much less intrusive. I traveled for business for many years, every hotel sounds different and always woke me up. With a noise machine every hotel room sounds like my bedroom at home. I use the Adaptive Sound Tec...

Re: Seeking Advice on Reducing Flow Limitation in CPAP Therapy
Is your machine strictly a CPAP or does it have an automatic (APAP) mode? I'm surprised you would be prescribed a non auto CPAP these days. It appears that the pressure is too low, I'm extremely uncomfortable with pressure below 9 CM. I don't think most people with obstructive apnea's get relief wit...

Re: Positional OSA with obvious symptoms - buying a PAP without official diagnosis
Based just on my own experience only! (I'm not a doctor and can't offer real medical advice). I've used PAP treatment (mostly APAP) for about 25 years. I use a ResMed S10 with good success. The vast majority of people do well with a pretty ordinary auto CPAP. What ever you get, especially if you do ...
