Re: Airsense 10 - noise from air intake

I am so glad you posted this, as I have been having the same issue for the past couple months and today had finally gotten fed up with it and decided to check the forum for advice. Mine IS as loud as the video (if not louder), same machine, only on inhale, and like yours only after it's been running...

Re: Melting Non-Heating Hose on Resmed Airsense 10

Thanks, all, for the responses. I've never cleaned the hose with anything other than "clean" soap and water -- same as my masks -- so it wouldn't be a "chemical" issue. I'm still not convinced that it's not a heat issue, but I'll accept that perhaps the hose is just old and subject to self-deteriora...

Melting Non-Heating Hose on Resmed Airsense 10

One of the core reasons for upgrading to the Resmed 10 was because my old Resmed S8 didn't have a humidifier. Since I don't need (or want) a heated hose, I use my old S8 hose, as the slimline that comes with the Airsense 10 doesn't deliver enough pressure for me. I've read that the 10 recognizes whe...

Re: Use Resmed S9 replacement tube on 10?

If you use the regular hose, I highly HIGHLY recommend setting the humidity control to OFF as well. I used my regular S8 hose with Airsense 10, with humidifier level set to 3 or 4 (out of 10). The machine knows I don't have a heater hose attached (or else it would have offered separate humidity/hose...

Re: Hating My New Autosense 10

The issue with dryness is mostly with my throat. While there are no guarantees on what my mouth is doing while I sleep, I'm 99% sure it is not open. I use a nasal mask - for a while on the Mirage FX, with some testing lately of the Wisp.

Re: Hating My New Autosense 10

Thanks, robysue, for the detailed explanation on cpap humidifiers. The reasons I changed from the S8 is that I wanted to be able to get more data out of it, AND I needed to boost my max pressure a little but was already at the limit of dryness my mouth and throat could take. My first night with the ...

Hating My New Autosense 10

I just finished Night #2 with my new A10 Autoset machine, "upgraded" from an S8 Autoset. First the superfluous: • controls and screen are on the front instead of the top; I have to get down on the floor to read or control anything; • the hose comes out the back, which means I can't just stand the ma...

Re: Wisp vs. Airfit P10

I can't answer specific to either the Wisp or the Airfit, nor have I ever used nasal pillows. I currently have the Mirage FX but am currently considering between the Respironics Dreamwear and the Airfit N10 (full nasal, not pillows; I've read that nasal pillows tend to cause more nasal irritation th...

Re: Time for New Machine -- Overthinking it?

Apparently, you refrained from returning to the original post to look at his question. Here it is. Any thoughts on this, or feedback/arguments to my logic would be much appreciated... I saw no reference to the Intellipap, which is why I brought it up. If there was one, I missed it. For many people,...

Re: Time for New Machine -- Overthinking it?

Howard, I didn't read the whole thread, but I think it would be an oversight not to strongly consider the Resmed A10 AutoSet. It is my first and only machine (received in January), but I absolutely love it with zero complaints. I chose the Respironics DreamWear mask to go along with it and I don't ...

Re: Time for New Machine -- Overthinking it?

Last night's leak level was 0.56; avg for the week was 0.7. Last night's AHI was 4.1; avg for the week was 4.6 It looks like last night's increased max pressure from 10.2 to 10.6 helped with AHI. I'll check it again tomorrow after increasing the pressure again, but I still think a newer machine wit...

Re: Time for New Machine -- Overthinking it?

Which specific model? If you have the Elite or Autoset, they're both data-capable and have SOME data available via the LCD screen (if checked in the morning before Noon). I have the autoset. My numbers from this morning: Last night's leak level was 0.56; avg for the week was 0.7. Last night's AHI w...

Re: Time for New Machine -- Overthinking it?

Your minimum pressure is set to the factory default of 4.0. This is almost certainly too low for good therapy. And, if you typically need pressures around 10 or 12, your machine is going to make some large pressure swings going from 4 to the required pressure. [snip] So, can you look at the machine...

Re: Time for New Machine -- Overthinking it?

The other issue (or maybe it is "the" issue) is that I just found my original prescription, which was for 12 cm max pressure, but my pressure is currently set for 10.2. There are probably multiple reasons I'd lowered it at some point to 10 What are your current pressure settings? It's not clear fro...

Re: Time for New Machine -- Overthinking it?

what? these: http://www.skinit.com/create-your-own/c ... ins/resmed I did a search on that site for Resmed and for S9 -- nothing. I looked in the menu under Skins > Medical Devices -- nothing. Didn't think to look under "custom", but it is there! Something to bookmark should I decide on the pink! =...
