Re: Mask fit & sleepyhead data & how good can it get?
Ok, I went and did that and this seems more in line now. For my most recent I had AHI of 1.88, Obs.Index of 0.71, Hypopnea Index of 0.71, Clear Airway index of 0.47, and 0 for flow limitation index and RERA index. That also puts the % time above leak threshold to 0.00%. I was going to also ask, what...

Mask fit & sleepyhead data & how good can it get?
I've been using my BiPAP for 83 days now, and I thought I was having good results. My AHI is under 3.0 pretty consistently and the Philips App (that you can sync your data via bluetooth to your phone) has been saying lately that mask fit is 100%, or in the 90% range. I now know that's not really the...

Re: CPAP vs BiPAP
Basically you are missing the point. 1. Get the software for your machine, learn to use it. It will give you clues to the pressures you need and if your choices are working for you, and if they need to be changed. Leak rate is important, if it's not under control, the data won't be accurate. You so...

CPAP vs BiPAP
I've been using a BiPAP for a while now, with good results. I've got a question based on something I've noticed. At first, it felt like a leaf blower attached to my face. Now I hardly notice the pressure. (Pressure settings have not changed.) I've just finally grown accustomed to it. In the beginnin...

Re: Looking for some advice on the Amera View
Any chance that nose card thing would be to scale if I were to print it out? I hadn't seen one of those before. (And feel like I should have...)

Re: Looking for some advice on the Amera View
Some things I have learned: 1. as Grayghost said, the end of the mask "cup" goes just over the tip of your nose 2. the nose is sealed by inflating around the edges of your nose and not by pressing up from underneath 3. as with most masks, it is quite sensitive to strap pressure, adjust 1/8" at a ti...

Re: Amara View FFM - correct size blocks nostrils
I have that mask, but am having a different problem. The horizontal plastic piece that separates the nose and mouth holes digs into the bottom of my nose during the night. Doesn't seem to matter how I adjust the thing; I'm developing blisters (or, ugh, callouses) on the bottom of my nose. Point bein...

Re: Mask cleaning - now slick as greased lightning?
Been using them, although I have to cut a larger hole out the middle of them or else the material settles over my nostrils during the night. How often do you have to replace liners? Does the mask still need cleaning if you always use a liner?
My head must be shaped like a greased pig!

Mask cleaning - now slick as greased lightning?
Have: Amara View mask. Thought I was getting used to it, put a chin strap with it, started getting leaks again and mask resumed creeping up my face during the night. I figure it's probably time to clean the mask. Doesn't seem dirty, but probably oils from my skin or something... Anyway, I clean as p...

Re: After 10 years, MAYBE a mask that works!!!
Does it work with higher pressure, and/or with a BiPAP? Did you have good results with it?

Re: Phillips Dreamstation filters- 2 types-BIG difference
UGHHHH....They didn't give me a manual. The company/provider truely sucks. I've pretty much had to figure it all out on my own. Well, this explains the good air. LOL Thanks, Yall. I don't mean to call out any providers in particular, but I'm gathering from this forum that the barriers to entry for ...

Re: Amara View rides up my face overnight, & other newbie issues
To OP, If the mask is not working properly you need to see either the DME or your Doctor, not sure about your DME but mine has a 30 day mask swap policy in case I not get used with a different mask, so you should check with them. I believe an alternative for you would be the Mirage Quattro mask whi...

Re: Amara View rides up my face overnight, & other newbie issues
Morchella: Well, great! The medium was ok, but it felt like my lips were getting sucked through the opening for them after a night wearing the thing. My lips probably kept it from sliding up my face to my nose.
Anyway, yeah, glad it gave you some inspiration!

Re: Phillips Dreamstation filters- 2 types-BIG difference
Do you think the smaller filter could have been letting more air in (not filtering as much) since you said it didn't fit as well? Then again, you said your sinuses were clear. How long had you been using the prior filter before switching? Never mind; you said less than a month old. That big of a dif...

Re: Amara View rides up my face overnight, & other newbie issues
i have amara view and i cut the inner nose strip off so i don't get that painful bull nosering sore, it really helps a lot. i think it's a design flaw to have that thin piece of rubber across bottom of nose. also i switched to a different mask and have a brand new in package, never opened amara vie...
