Re: Switched to Aircurve Vauto, did I set it right?
Thanks lily747, I want to use auto. Thanks Palerider, I'm looking at the data in sleepy head but I don't really know what I'm looking at...it says I'm needing higher pressures on both epap and ipap, so I raised the epap to 9 and the PS to 9 and last night I had one event (ca) and stayed right around...

Switched to Aircurve Vauto, did I set it right?
Would appreciate feedback from experts here on CPAP Talk. I was using Resmed S9 VPAP S, and recently bought an aircurve Vauto, and moved my S9 to my backup (many thousands of hours on it). My pressure settings on the S9 VPAP S were IPAP @ 17 and EPAP @ 8. From researching posts here on the board I c...

Re: s10
I don't use a heated hose so I can't answer that. My wife says the machine is quieter than the s9. I'm hard of hearing but it sounds real quiet. I didn't have an s9 auto so I can't.compare it to that. I don't know what palerider means when he says it's a small block Chevy lol.

Re: s10
I just went to an aircurve auto from an s9 vpap s. While it's not apples to apples since I went to an auto, I can't really tell any practical difference other than the aircurve uses more water. I do appreciate the auto capability, as I found out my pressure needs were higher than my prescribed press...

Re: ResMed S9 Elite for sale
Hi Sir Nod,
About 5500 if memory serves. I used it for about 2 years, until I was switched to bilevel.

ResMed S9 Elite for sale
Well used but perfectly functioning S9 Elite (w/EPR) for sale. Has been in case since I was converted to VPAP in late 2014, except for 2 nights I used it last month while experimenting with Sleepy head. Has high hours but it is clean and works flawlessly, includes humidifier and case. Please PM if i...

Re: Need some expert ResMed S9 VPAP S and VPAP ST help please
I tried that but it is still a very abrupt transition. The S does the same thing with easy-breathe turned off, but I can't seem to get used to the abrupt transition....If I can't trade for an S I'll probably keep trying. It is a very significant difference given such a high pressure I have to use.

Re: Need some expert ResMed S9 VPAP S and VPAP ST help please
When I turn off the easy-breathe function on my vpap s, it behaves just like my vpap st, in terms of forceful breathing pattern. I find it hard to believe resumed didn't allow for some manual settings in rise time, trigger, cycle, etc. to provide for a comfortable transition between ipap and epap. O...

Re: Need some expert ResMed S9 VPAP S and VPAP ST help please
Thanks palerider. Is there any reason NOT to use the ST if I can get used to not having the easy-breathe feature? The therapy part is the same right?

Need some expert ResMed S9 VPAP S and VPAP ST help please
I use an S9 VPAP S as my main equipment. It has a label on the case that says "Easy-Breathe" below the on off button, and in the setup menu the easy-breathe feature can be turned off, but it is on, and inhale/exhale is very comfortable and "normal". I just got an S9 VPAP ST as a back-up/travel unit....

Re: Sleepyhead...
Thanks for the suggestions. I used the straight CPAP at 17 just to see if I could tolerate the straight pressure, and if so what the results would do. I will talk to doc.

Re: Sleepyhead...
Thanks very much for the responses. Yes, I've had sleep study years ago. My first study years ago resulted in straight clap at 12 I Leif memory serves. I had a follow on tritation in 2014 where they prescribed bilevel at 8/17. I believe because imy pressure was so high that I was leaking a lot. I ha...

Re: Sleepyhead...
How do you know the "best" epap, and pressure support to use? For example, I used my straight cpap on 17 for 2 nights last week, and had zero events. When I use vpap some nights I have zero but some nights I have a few events, more ca than oa according to sleepy head.
