Preparing for my first night on CPAP
Hi All, I picked up my AirSense Auto for her today, and I'm trying the Dreamwear mask. Do you know if the AHI is calculated off of run time, or when it senses you are asleep? I'm afraid of wearing it for fun while awake as it could artificially lower AHI. My pressure range is 5-15. I am fairly famil...

Re: If you could have any machine, what would you pick?
So the AirSense 10 is still the favorite to the S9? Does that include the S9 ST-A model?

Re: I'm scared
Try adjusting the ramp time... Lengthen it out as long as it will go. Also, maybe try watching a movie with it on during the day to see if you can improve your tolerance and "love" for the machine. Good luck!

If you could have any machine, what would you pick?
I'll find out of Wednesday if I need CPAP or BiPAP. Homecare said I could pick any machine I wanted. Even if I do not use an autoset, it is billed the same and they would provide it just in case I change to auto some day. I know they have the Resmed S9 (all varieties), Dreamstation, and the AirSense...

We are driving to the only Children's Hospital in the state for all of her care. I got her a total face mask 2 nights ago, and she seems to be doing awesome.

A chin strap won't help her situation, it's her lips that leak, not her jaw opening. She is almost 5 years old. To make it even more exciting, her mask has been sliding off of her chin creating a massive leak that I have been fighting every day. It's a pain!

Re: ventilator vs. bipap
In pediatrics, there is a chance we would try BiPAP first, or even CPAP for respiratory distress. If they are in respiratory failure, they get intubating and placed on a ventilator. In the adult population, you go straight to the ventilator when in or approaching respiratory failure. They can do bre...

Re: What does acronym RERA mean?
When you are on the graph view of sleepyhead, highlight the "RERA" just to the left of the top event graph/log and it gives a nice definition.

Re: Looking for dimensions--- Amara View (small)
Pediatric FF masks do not exist. We tried several nasal masks/pillows including AGI, swift fx, pixi, and wisp). My daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed. Each night after surgery, she started to leak more and more out of her lips (jaw closed). Finally I had enough, and had to deal with a lot...

Preparing to use AirSense 10 for her for the first time toni
My 5 year old is going to try out the AirSense 10 for Her tonight. Any pointers? We are also going to try a new FF mask tonight too (the other FF has to cover her eyes to get a good seal). She's on a CPAP of 9. I already registered an account for her with MyAir, is there anything else that would be ...

Re: CPAP setup by NON-licensed professionals
Here in Utah, you do not need to be a RT to set up CPAP or BiPAP in the home, unless that therapy is being provided with a ventilator like a Trilogy. My daughter is on the Trilogy for CPAP (non-invasive) and they had to find an RT to do the setup at our house because of it.

She requires a full face mask. She leaks from her lips with her jaw closed.

Looking for dimensions--- Amara View (small)
I'm considering yet another mask for my daughter. She's almost 5 years old. How big is the nose hole? How tall is the mask? Any thing else in addition would be great too (like width on face).
