It doesn't seem like you're treating the root cause.
Try an APAP machine (buy it yourself if need be), and figure out the right mask.
I'm ~2 months into this, and finally starting to figure it out.

Bedtime snack and overall hunger after starting CPAP
Hello All, Looking for some advice about snacks and hunger. I started CPAP about three weeks ago, and my AHI is down to the 1-3 range. Sleep quality is good, though I awake in the middle of the night feeling like I'm starving. During the daytime, I feel better rested, and also generally hungrier. Is...

DreamStation Oximeter
Hello!
Does anyone use the Philips oximeter with the DreamStation? I'm having trouble finding the data -- it doesn't seem to appear on DreamMapper, and I cannot find the output anywhere else. The DreamStation says the oximeter is successfully connected...just can't find the readings.
Suggestions???

Re: 2 weeks-in; finally a restful night sleep
Congratulations! I am at the two week mark myself and hope to be able to report similar success soon. It strikes me as oh-so-ironic that I sleep way better au natural than with the mask on. Wasn't the whole problem we were addressing that I wasn't sleeping well in the first place??? Ironic indeed. ...

Re: 2 weeks-in; finally a restful night sleep
Hello, Posting here b/c nobody IRL much understands or cares much about the minutia of getting a CPAP program figured out. I'm happy to say that have two weeks trying, I finally got a decent night's sleep. The most recent addition was a chin-strap to keep my big mouth closed through the night (some...

Hello, I've recently started CPAP therapy, and have noticed improvement in my sleep. Curious though, over what period of time does it take the body to fully adapt to healthy sleeping? A month? 3 months? a year? If the body has spent years adapting to poor sleep conditions, it seems like it might tak...

Sometimes you need to power-down and restart your phone, DreamStation, or both.

Re: First week nightmare.
Last night I set the minimum to 6, left the maximum at 20, and deactivated the auto-ramp. It felt much easier to breathe. It was my best night of sleep by far (out of only 4 to date), and I actually feel pretty good today. Please don't take my limited experience as advice...just trying to figure thi...

Re: First week nightmare.
Hi there,
Another first weeker, and I'll just add that the original minimum machine settings also made me feel suffocated. I've reset to a higher pressure, and also deactivated the ramp "feature."
Like you, hoping for a better night.
Good luck.

Re: DreamStation
In terms of "actually delivers" I'm simply trying to find an independent (i.e. oximeter) record of what happens during the night. Yes, the machine might say my AHI is <2, but how do I know that's accurate? The DreamStation reports certain data -- it may or may not be correct. Thank you for the recom...

Re: DreamStation
Since I'm not on that machine, do you get oximeter data?
The DreamStation offers an oximeter, though I've tried and tried to purchase one, to no avail.
It'd be great to double-check and see if the Philips machine actually delivers. But so far, I haven't found a way to do so...

Re: DreamStation
Thank you for your reply.
I'm a newbie, though (I hope and think I am) learning quickly.
The lack of information is supremely frustrating.
I cannot post all I've learned, but it seems like there's a better way.
Venting a bit, and also want to share and learn.

Thanks, perhaps I'm naive, but why does it matter if not supported by SleepyHead?
