Re: nasal pillows vs nasal mask
Hello and welcome! I suggest you fill in your profile information to provide details about your equipment and pressure, etc. People here can better assist you if they have that information up front. About the sleep therapist's comment that "the machine can't lower the pressure fast enough", and pres...

Re: Tips on keeping mouth closed
I have tried different sides (narrow and wide). I think the issue in my case was that not only does my chin drops, but it also tends to move slightly backwards, when relaxed. The best trick was to keep the jaw up and forward Lots of good experiences, ideas and suggestions/recommendations shared her...

Re: My snoring and flow limitation events and min pressure
Thank you for your response, robysue. Your comments make sense and are well taken. So with the Wisp your long term AHI = 0.94 and with the Nuance it's 1.41. That's a statistically insignificant increase in the AHI and it's NOT worth worrying about That is reassuring to hear and as you mentioned it i...

Re: My snoring and flow limitation events and min pressure
Okay, so about 3 weeks of using the Nuance nasal pillows mask which I started using on March 1. I used the Wisp nasal mask for a little over 2 weeks before starting with the Nuance. Some general comments and observations of my daily experience and review of the data and then some stats: --> I like t...

Re: Soft cervical collar for chin tucking and mouth breathing
I struggle with wearing nasal pillows and my tendency to mouth-breathe. I've been wearing a chin strap (the generic PR "deluxe") and experimenting with 3M porous surgical tape ("Transpore".) I've noticed that obviously chin straps do not prevent all mouth leaks and the tape has not been working out ...

Re: My snoring and flow limitation events and min pressure
I should have looked back to see specifically which part of the PRS1 behavior you were talking about. I definitely think the probes poking at the sleeper when everything is nice and smooth is perverse. The nurse bit is a great analogy. I guess the idea is that PRS1 is being 'proactive', but it hasn'...

Re: My snoring and flow limitation events and min pressure
Well it's been over a week since starting my new mask: PR Nuance nasal pillows. I find this mask much more comfortable and it has not been causing facial or nose irritation which is awesome. Leaks have been OK for the most part (about the same as the prior mask) with a few nights of too muck leakage...

Re: New user-Please help optimize my settings
Anything else significant that you noticed? When I had the loaner, the last 2 days I noticed I was able to get more done in the day and that was great. Mask: Wisp x-large and m/l I changed to the smaller size because the large one kept blowing air into my eyes. I also have a full face mask(nose and...

Re: PRS1 tubing and humidifier settings
What does your System One say the settings are? Sorry, I should have been more clear: there is nothing that I can find on the machine that shows heated tubing status or anything about heated tubing, e.g. turn it on or off. The machine says the humidifier is on, and there is no status information I'...

PRS1 tubing and humidifier settings
My Sleepyhead Machine Settings shows: Heated Tubing - Yes Humidifier Status - Disconnected I do not have heated tubing and I use the heated humidifier each night. I did not find a way to adjust these settings in 'clinician mode.' I have seen others' (same machine) screenshots showing what I believe ...
