Re: Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
Doc ordered no more autoset mode. 13 cm h20 on constant pressure. He actually took the time to show me the data from the study and was very open with me about all of the #'s. Also listened closely to my feedback about how I felt and what I wanted to do. I didn't mention that I knew how to change set...

Re: Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
Just got on the schedule for tomorrow night. Looking forward to getting some intelligence and the abiility to hear his opinion. Feeling optimistic.

Re: Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
I just read that the only Airsense that reports RERA is the Airsense for her. Interesting. I seem to remember a RERA index in Sleepyhead's statistics page. Does anyone know how the machine knows a RERA event occurred, and how it might differ from reading during a sleep study? Is there a motion senso...

Re: Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
So, just to update anyone who's contributed positively to the conversation, I had a consult today. The doctor was actually quite good, and recognized right away that I have a bit of a complex case. He indicated that he wanted me to do a sleep study and that the soonest they could schedule one was la...

Re: Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
I will try this and not worry about a new/different machine, for now. But I think I'm going to play it safe and talk to this doc and feel it out before tweaking any settings. I will probably have to print out the sleepyhead report for him but then again, he will probably ask for the SD card so he ca...

Re: Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
When I wake up in the morning, I feel like a little hypoxia. that's the best way I could describe it. I would prefer to be taking deeper breaths. I wake up and it still takes me extra effort to get moving in the morning. I still have trouble concentrating at 100% even getting 7 hours of sleep a nigh...

Re: Ice in humidifier chamber
......... - the original point was that humidification doesn't actually suffocate people. Ever. ........... To epollak. I'm sorry that you're not able to consider surgery. However, there are outpatient surgeries for some of these issues that might avoid general anaesthesia. They all suck to some ex...

Re: Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
Thanks everyone for all the great posts. Regarding the exposure of my PHI to coworkers, yes it was a massive F_up. They faxed the wrong number on the same trunk as my employer and then my info got passed around at work. This was around 2011 and the lady obviously wrote down the wrong fax number and ...

Re: Ice in humidifier chamber
Again, a purely semantic, argumentative sentence, particularly when positive pressure is achieved by a motor commonly known as a "blower" and when the humidifier option is a dominant recommended treatment used for comfort. . if you don't care about accurate technical details, that's entirely up to ...

Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
Any feedback from the group or anyone who's tried both? 1. I have an Airsense 10 from Apria and it seems to be working okay, but I feel like it's algorithm isn't quite getting up to the pressure I need. Doc has it set between 10 and 20 cm/H2O. My algorithm pretty much averages out at 12.9 or so. I'v...

Re: Ice in humidifier chamber
No offense intended, likewise. There is absolutely nothing unsafe about using humidified cpap, and in fact, is better in the long run for tissues. They will get irritated over the years by blowing pressurized dry air over them. The turbinates were not meant to deal with pressurized air =) the only ...

Re: Ice in humidifier chamber
No offense intended, but there may be better results if you address the psychological components of why this is occuring. There are very real psychological effects of using CPAP. There is absolutely nothing unsafe about using humidified cpap, and in fact, is better in the long run for tissues. They...
