Re: Week 1 under my belt - it's going ok
My AHI was 0.4 last night so ok, that's good I guess Thanks for all the info! I do think I will wait til after my appointment to try sleepyhead. I understand it's not sleepyhead that's the issue, but the computer, but like I said, technology isn't always my friend, lol! I'm worried *I* will screw it...

Re: Week 1 under my belt - it's going ok
Mudrock, I saw sleepyhead mentioned and got as far as the page to download it but then got nervous that I'd somehow wipe the SD card (the page said to make sure not to do that!) and have no data when I went to my doctor appointment the end of this month. I have a love/hate relationship with technolo...

Re: Week 1 under my belt - it's going ok
Thanks all! and good luck to you too hskriver I have a full face mask because I am a huge mouth breather. People were right and having this has helped my nose breathe better, but not (yet?) enough that I could get away with just a nose mask. Full face for me Good luck with the mouth thing! FoggyFrog...

Week 1 under my belt - it's going ok
The good. It was easy! I am thankful I am not one of the people who had major problems adjusting to this. The mask is comfortable and while it's a bit weird to sleep with it, I didn't have significant problems getting used to having it on my face. Every night I put it on, it takes one awkward breath...

Re: new to CPAP: are nasal pillows bad w/year-round allergies?
I can't speak for anyone else, but I've been to an allergist. I have two different prescriptions I take for when I'm around cats, but even those don't work well enough for night time allergies. OTCs didn't work, neither did a Neti pot. Benadryl worked but I'd wake up feeling like a truck hit me (whi...

Re: new to CPAP: are nasal pillows bad w/year-round allergies?
I have the same question. I haven't gotten my machine yet and the doctor suggested nasal pillows which seems a bad idea for someone with allergies who already breathes through her mouth most nights.

Re: mild OSA but snoring?
Blackspinner, that is a funny story
Ok, thank you for the answers. Still waiting on insurance (should be ok, but the gears move slowly). Waking 20 times per hour does explain a LOT, let me tell you My fingers are crossed for all this.

Re: mild OSA but snoring?
I don't have the machine yet, I just got the official diagnosis yesterday. I'm just wondering if there's anyone else who has snoring that has been helped by a CPAP or APAP. I wasn't aware that snoring on it's own, without apnea, could be an issue! And Julie, I do try and sleep on my side and thought...

mild OSA but snoring?
I'm new to all this so bear with me because I don't know all the lingo yet I just got diagnosed with OSA. I talked to the doctor today. She said my apnea episodes were only 7 per hour, but I am waking 20 times per hour because I'm waking myself up with my snoring. I am only aware of waking up ever h...
