Re: SleepyHead Data review

You might mention the times that you are fairly certain you were asleep. It won't be unexpected for you to report a lot of awake time on the machine. In general the pressure shouldn't be moving much unless you were actually asleep because the machine doesn't normally respond to awake events like th...

Re: SleepyHead Data review

If you can get a couple more 3 hour sessions they should be able to get you close with a pressure determination but your problems sleeping in larger blocks also could offer more weight in giving you an auto adjusting pressure capable machine. That would cover all potential bases later once you hope...

Re: Got a sleep study, but it didn't go well.

This is how they do a split study . If the diagnosis exceeds a certain number AHI, the lab may proceed with titration--two birds with one stone. yea.. unfortunately the second part of the split study was pretty much nonexistent because I couldn't sleep and took off the machine. So they gave me the ...

Re: SleepyHead Data review

Since this machine is a trial to titrate for pressure needs I think you are doing quite well considering and you are sleeping well enough to get a close idea what your pressure needs are. It would be nice if they let you keep this machine....it's a sweetheart of a machine. I know you were given 3 n...

Re: SleepyHead Data review

Could you go to the machine and confirm the various settings? The report is showing results that look like cpap mode single pressure yet your settings should have show bilevel pressures. It's possible that SleepyHead is having a brain fart though...it sometimes gets confused with the AirCurve data....

Re: Got a sleep study, but it didn't go well.

Three weeks isn't going to do it. Not 3 weeks, 3 DAYS, which is certainly not going to do it. I'm on 4 months and still adjusting. three days is plenty time to see if he's got apnea, which was inconclusive in the sleep study I wouldn't say completely inconclusive, right? since the tech woke me up a...

Self-Titration?

I have all symptoms of sleep apnea. I want to have a sleep study done, but my insurance is not very good and will take very long to even get the initial sleep study. I'm falling asleep while driving so this is fairly urgent. Also I'm on a tight budget, so buying an auto-set cpap from craigslist for ...

Anyone here NOT use insurance? (U.S.A)

I'm in California, and I would like to get a sleep study and hopefully get equipment if needed, but since I have horrible insurance, I have to pay full price for everything. If anyone else did this, may I ask how much you paid

Re: I seriously need some help

Have you talked to your MD about that (home study)? I can't help a lot there because I'm in Canada, so insurance issues are very diff. here as is a lot of your med set up... See you later and hang in! The doctor I see specialized in thyroid and other things. He is not a sleep guy, so I'm trying to ...

Re: I seriously need some help

Relax, there is help for you. There are good machines available for far less than new and we can point you to them, but it would help (you and the people you go to for machines) if you had SOME kind of testing - you can do a much less expensive home sleep study, but do need your MD to get it set up...

I seriously need some help

I am definitely sure I have some sort of sleep apnea. My Jaw is naturally pushed back because of my misaligned teeth. When I open my mouth , the pathway is really small because of my Jaw and tonsils. I have trouble falling asleep, and when I do wake up it's usually very early and abrupt; and it feel...
