Re: Blood Sugar and Central Apnea
According to Dr. Richard K. Bernstein (Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution) normal people who have no insulin resistance (if you can find them) run about 75 -85 after a meal. So it is not necessary to get your blood glucose over 100 after a meal. 80's is just where it should be for optimal health. It...

Re: Blood Sugar and Central Apnea
It's real easy to get caught up chasing your own tail. Blood Sugar levels have many variables, it easy to overthink. Most Doctors don't have a clue, long enough patients. Your best bet would work towards the best A XPAP treatment, without letting it take over your life. Have your Doctor do a blood ...

Blood Sugar and Central Apnea
Hey ya'll, Quick update that some of you may be interested in. Started checking my blood sugar lately. Turns out I'm on the low end, not quite hypo, but pretty low. My fasting sugar isn't abnormal, usually around 80, but what no one ever tested is what it does after I eat. It wasn't getting up over ...

Re: Sleepyhead reports for jjsemperfi
Is there a question here? Negative. Someone just suggested I start my own thread with my SH data. Had another great night last night with the chin strap. My fitness tracker watch reported (estimated) I had double the amount of deep sleep that I normally have. I have been using the watch for 2 month...

Sleepyhead reports for jjsemperfi
Starting a new thread, as suggested with my sleepyhead data. So I put them in order. The only difference in days, is the machine was set on Autoset (4-6cm) the first night, minor variations in EPR and a 1.5cm pressure change for one night (just for kicks) and the chin strap on the latest night (Feb ...

Re: Interesting Development
Please Google Silent Reflux or Silent GERD. And read beyond the 1st entry. And gluten free etc. etc. is nice, but not necessarily relevant - you don't NEED to be a coffee (or anything else) drinker to have GERD. That is IF you want an answer to your sleep problem rather than blind agreement from us...

Re: Interesting Development
When you post your screenshots this is what we need. This allows us to see the statistics and machine settings. We all have nights with varying AHI, glad this was a good one for you, and this is why we look for trends. Also it is helpful if you stick to one thread and that way people that reply hav...

Re: Interesting Development
You use Wiki as a doctor? Seriously? Certainly it is on you to see a real doctor when you need answers to what you say is a big problem in your life, and not run to Wiki for a very general, superficial answer to it. But people here have been all the way x 10 and back, and know what they're talking ...

Re: Interesting Development
The thing is, even if you had 1,000 events in that one hour - and were more awake than not - if you're sleeping relatively ok for the rest of the night you should not feel as bad as you do and should have had a pretty good amount of mostly event-free sleep otherwise, so I still think there's someth...

Re: Interesting Development
Obvious as it may seem, have you checked the possibility of e.g. a nearby train whistle or something similar waking you then? Or something in your immediate environment that you otherwise haven't considered? I find that I wake up around a similar (or somewhat later) time because the duvet becomes t...

Re: Interesting Development
Very interesting... now what you need to do is test each of those two things separately, to see if you can further pin down which is responsible (if not both equally) for the difference. Agreed. Now obviously whether this is actually causing my issues is another ball of wax entirely, but it's getti...

Interesting Development
So I wanted to do some different testing to find out what my issue is. As you all know, I have a very low AHI of 3. However, I sleep like crap, and at around 3 am I have large clusters of central apnea. So I thought to myself, I can test this out. I'll sleep earlier, still get the duration of sleep ...

Does EPR have a tendency to provoke centrals or something?
