Re: One month check in - feeling awful about life.
I just drove back over there and got this sorted out. I can opt out of this second test for a while. So i'm cleared on cash. Current plan is to get the new job (contract) buy my own insurance (yay obamacare) that includes my provider in network. Then save up the money and just buy a machine myself o...

Sadly I don't have the funds to buy one out of pocket.

Re: One month check in - feeling awful about life.
I do. I did two nights of home sleep study initially and they said - You have sleep apnea. Take this Auto-CPAP. It is set to 6-12 pressure. See you in a month! Now they are like - Great it's under control! Looks like you're usually set at 8-11. We need to find your optimal pressure! You need two mor...

One month check in - feeling awful about life.
Went to my one month check in. I'm under control! But now they want to find my "ideal pressure" so they want two more nights of home sleep test - which will be another 300 dollars after discounts for insurance. And a $150 deposit to do it. When does it end? I already had a study. I already did this....

Re: Airsense 10 Autoset Issue
My Airsense 10 Autoset did the EXACT same thing. Synced at 3:44 AM saying I had slept for 1 hour with 3.5 events per hour. I KNOW I slept closer to 8 hours. My biggest peeve with that is that if it is the info my insurance will use to determine compliance I was almost at 30 days! Maybe it was a serv...

Re: Titration Question
I just moved and have no savings. Was living paycheck to paycheck, and right as i was ready to start saving, I decided to get this taken care of, so I'm going to be working with my doctor to pay off my $1500 deductible over 6 months. Can't afford an $800 cpap in a lump sum.

Re: Titration Question
Unfortunately I'm not in the financial situation to buy a machine outright. I'll be going through a DME.

Re: Titration Question
Yeah, I have every intention of getting sleepyhead and staying on top of my data.
Just wanted to know if this was a sensical argument if they try and get me something I don't want.

Titration Question
Quick one here, I hope. I did two home sleep studies instead of an in-lab. I go back next Thursday for my diagnosis and to get a machine if needed. Since I didn't do a Titration lab, I should be able to use that as a reason I'd want an auto machine instead of a brick if the doctor tries to get me on...

Re: Brand New and Terrified
Been doing a ton of reading, getting educated and ready for this next step. The worst part of it is the waiting. i want to go talk to them NOW, so that I don't end up going in and wasting my time with them trying to give me a machine I don't want. Maybe I should call ahead? Also I am SO aware of how...

Re: Brand New and Terrified
Any particular machines to watch out for? Or anything I should definitely ask for?
I wake up congested quite often, does this mean I wont' be able to get a nasal pillow mask? So many questions!

Re: Brand New and Terrified
Thanks for all the responses. I really appreciate it. I used to exercise and run and be happy. My mom passed away in 2012 and I let everything go. That's when the bad sleeping started. People have been telling me for years that I snore like a freight train and they are afraid I'm dying in my sleep. ...

Brand New and Terrified
I've been lurking here for a while, but decided to make a username and post today. I just finished up two nights of home sleep study (because I have people telling me the symptoms and the in lab is a lot more expensive - my insurance is not the best). I have my follow up with the sleep lab in two we...
