Re: Help please with large mask leaks and runaway pressure
Ultimately, I've only really gone back to where I started in my last thread (Will I ever get less than 2.2?). Obviously 2.32 and a leak rate of 0.6% is much better than 5.87 and leak rates of 40% etc - but I wish there was a way to get it down further. 2.3 isn't bad, actually. it could be better, b...

Re: Help please with large mask leaks and runaway pressure
A small update. I went back to one pillow instead of two. I didn't change anything else on this night. My AHI went down to 3.17 but my large leak rate was 40.74%! (up from 17.37% and 23.04% the previous two nights). The pressure still went up to 20 though and never went down, despite periods of no e...

Re: Help please with large mask leaks and runaway pressure
Thanks so much for your reply RubySue. A lot to digest there so I'll re-read it again later. Tonight I'll lower the max pressure a bit and go back to one pillow. One thing that does jump out about what you've said though is why does it not go down again. In the two months or so I've been using it, i...

Re: Help please with large mask leaks and runaway pressure
Cpap.com may not ship there, but you can at least get an idea of what's out there, and then investigate availability in Spain. Besides, there are other dealers who will ship to you I'm sure. Your pressure may be up for various reasons, but one you know of for sure is leaking, so why not at least de...

Re: Help please with large mask leaks and runaway pressure
Who's watching you while you sleep to know that you are not mouth breathing? Use the FF mask with a nose pad...available at cpap.com... and/or a mask liner. My partner has never seen me breath through my mouth when I've been asleep. Before I was diagnosed she did see me NOT breathing Cpap.com don't...

Re: Help please with large mask leaks and runaway pressure
Theory's great, but if it doesn't work... there are so many FFMs out there now, I would definitely give some a trial (free x 30 days from Cpap.com except for a small insce. fee), including things like the Hybrid. You need to change something. Yes, something needs to change but I don't understand wh...

Re: Help please with large mask leaks and runaway pressure
Thanks Julie. I did try a FF mask when I first started (a Philips ComfortGel Blue) and I still have it, but it cut my nose and wasn't comfortable. I breathe through my nose so in theory a nasal pillow should be ok.

Help please with large mask leaks and runaway pressure
Hi, This is a follow on from this thread - http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=110693&start=30 It was recommended that I try increasing my min pressure from 7, which I did (to 9) and to put my max at 20 on the basis it wouldn't go past what was needed. I've done this for the last two nights ...

Re: Will I ever get a better AHI? Best is 2.2 or so?
I would do as PaleRider said. Bump up the minimum pressure. The lady who helped me most on here said sometimes an increase in the minimum pressure might help to head off any obstructive events BEFORE they happen. Where is the machine bumps your pressure up to deal with them AFTER they happen. So yo...

Re: Will I ever get a better AHI? Best is 2.2 or so?
the pillow change could very well have helped open up your airway and thus you needed less pressure. I'd bump the min pressure up, and leave the max where it is for now. re SA.. one of the things that Jedimark grumbles about concerning Icons is that they appear to be poorly shielded against interfe...

Re: Will I ever get a better AHI? Best is 2.2 or so?
Here's my (composite) screenshot from last night. It's a bit strange... My AHI for last night was 3.04. Normally I max out at whatever the max setting is I have, ie if I set 7-10, it goes to 10, if I set 7-15, it works up to 15 etc But last night, at 7-20, it never went past 11 (and it was only at 1...

Re: Will I ever get a better AHI? Best is 2.2 or so?
Thanks. I didn't realise there was a newer version. This has fixed the duplication problem! It's also moved some data around - the data I posted before on the 27th Jan is now on 28th Jan. The time is now correct too! But it's still incorrectly reporting the APAP vs CPAP setting. Last night was APAP...

Re: Will I ever get a better AHI? Best is 2.2 or so?
I've previously mentioned problems where the data sometimes gets merged into the same day so I have two sets of lines and two sets of data in the events (ie events at - say - 1:02... 2:10.... 3:02... etc then repeating the next night's 1:15... 2:33... 3:03... etc) what days are you seeing this on? ...
