Re: keep or return?
No opinions from anyone on my actual question? Assuming your "actual question" was this: If I tuck it away, will it still be usable next time I need it? then the answer is "no". There are three question marks in what I wrote. Both follow, basically, "does it make sense to keep the mask?" So I don't...

keep or return?
I bought an AirFit N30i, and tried it out last night. It was reasonably secure and comfortable, but so noisy that I'm not sure I can use it. (It's supposed to be super quiet so I don't know if it's a problem with my machine or pressure or what. My machine is a travel Z2 I bought to use while waiting...

Re: can anyone intrepret this apap info?
These are from the machine screen. The app stopped working for me awhile back.
I agree, "%" is completely meaningless, which is why I hoped someone else might have an idea.

can anyone intrepret this apap info?
Yesterday, I checked the info on my night's sleep and found some new numbers, but I don't have the faintest idea what they mean. Under "large leak" it said 5%. A percentage of the time sleeping during which I had large leaks? Usually this number is zero for me. "Periodic breathing" also showed 5%. M...

Re: disinfecting nasal pillows
Don't get bogged down in the minutiae of the full document I linked. If anything, pay more attention to the segment dealing with "high level thermal disinfection," it is that section that has the information with the greatest correlation between home and hospital usage. In that section, the recomme...

Re: Take CPAP when traveling
This may not apply to you, but I find it very difficult to fall asleep without my CPAP. If you decide that the machine is more trouble than it's worth, at least test out beforehand how you sleep without it.

Re: disinfecting nasal pillows
Thanks for that info, though I'm afraid it's too technical to be of much use outside a hospital.
I think I may just have to resign myself to frequent pillow changes.

Re: disinfecting nasal pillows
Archangle: the instructions on the bottle I have state "not to be used as a terminal strerilant/high-level disinfectant on any surface or instrument that... contacts intact mucous membranes." It's possible I'm reading the instructions wrong -- they are indeed unclear. Pugsy: That's a very kind sugge...

Re: disinfecting nasal pillows
I've seen numerous doctors for it over the years, including an infectious disease specialist. There is no simple cure.

Re: disinfecting nasal pillows
Pugsy -- that's the one I bought, and it can't be used on nasal pillows. I do have wipes -- they're always very cheap so I have a bunch of them, but I don't think they have any sanitizing/disinfecting properties. Bleach would presumably work, but then I'd have the stink of bleach in my nose. I may j...

disinfecting nasal pillows
I'm having a lot of trouble with recurring staph infections. Since staph germs tend to live in the nose, I'm concerned that I'm reinfecting myself through my nasal pillows. I bought a terrifying cleaning solution online but it doesn't sound like it's safe for pillows. Any suggestions?

Re: PR System One getting noisy (5 years old)
JO, my PR-1 had the same noise symptoms (intermittently) for over a year. Oddly, the one thing that would quiet the contraption was moving it. Sliding it around a bit on the night stand. When the length of ownership time was sufficient, I got a new machine, courtesy of Medicare. Parenthetically, as...

Re: PR System One getting noisy (5 years old)
I'm afraid I don't have an answer, but I logged in to ask a similar question. I find the varied nature of the system one noise really disturbing, and it got much worse (louder) when I tried the heated humidifier and tube. I wondered if this is normal and I guess it is. My old apap had constant white...

Re: new cpap smell -- yeech!
You wish is my command.
I still haven't had a chance to get distilled water (It's weirdly hard to find) so have yet to try the humidifier. I've never had one with a heated hose before, so am curious to see how it feels.
