Re: Does Your Chinstrap Help You Keep Your Mouth Shut?
dvejr, No. When I have trouble keeping seal with my normal FFM, I switch to my Hybrid FFM. Has nasal pillows & a much smaller mouth seal area. Kit comes w/three sizes of cushions & nasal pillows. Also, has a chin shelf, so no chin strap is required. If you breathe through your mouth it doesn't make...

Re: Benefits of a heated hose?
I've been on cpap since 1997. Bought a FP Icon with heated hose last month. $400 at CPAP.COM -- I've never slept better. Should have gone with this setup years ago. No rain out or condensation in the nasal pillows. Go for it.

Skinny people have sleep apnea as well so no answer to that question can be definitive.

Re: Mold in CPAP Humidifier Tank
I never leave any moisture in my humidifier -- dump the water, air dry in the cpap for a few minutes and set it on a towel [disassembled] to stay dry all day.

Re: Nose with MAJOR attitude: Pillows or nasal. Doesn't Matter
I use nasal pillows and lube my nose with petroleum jelly . Solves a lot of issues -- comfort and sealing. I can't use them dry.

Re: Auto CPAP Machine questions
I used a set pressure for for 19 years. Pressure was 9.5. Bought an auto machine to see if it would make a good thing better. I found out that I am much more comfortable on a fixed pressure -- the variations in the air flow are problematic. Maybe if I worked at it a while I would adjust but I'm very...

Re: Runny snot or was it rainout?
My nose runs regularly during the day --- having air pumped into your nose isn't natural so side effects are not uncommon. I don't think you were experiencing rain out but keep at it --- if you're getting a good night's sleep, minor sinus problems should be a non issue.

Re: How long do your nasal pillows last?
Mine don't seem to wear out even after a year but I change them out whenever I get new supplies. For 17 years I apply a little petroleum jelly to my nose before bed. Pillows seal better and are more comfortable. Wash them in the sink with very warm water and baby shampoo. I use the Fisher Paykel Opu...

I'll repeat again, the first clue is that he was looking to make his mask more attractive. Every mask on sale is "red hot" out of the box. Let's hope that as he ages his snorzilla gene engages and he can join us in our happy pursuit of quiet restful slumber. What goes around , comes around.

Re: Veteran User with first auto machine
That video was 5 years old and some things have changed re the screen menus. I was able to adapt and adjust [thank you xanax] and set the minimum at 8 and the max at 12 to reflect my Rx of 10. The only decision now is whether to enable the Sensawake feature. Thanks to all.

Re: Veteran User with first auto machine
Here is a video that shows how to enter the clinical menu and adjust both the minimum and maximum pressure. It is at the end of the video so be patient. Hope it helps. https://vimeo.com/20560260 thanks a bunch --- wow !! Will try later but I think my machine is locked out of the wrench icon --- I h...
