I would NOT rush to get surgery - I have seen too many people who had UPPPs (removing the back of the soft palate, including the uvula) who were not helped by surgery and also had problems. I know you are referring to a different procedure, but surgery may botch things up in unexpected ways.

I'm an internist and if what you say is accurate, I agree that narcolepsy does not make any sense - see someone who will refer you for a sleep study.

I don't know the answers to all your questions, but sometimes there are glitches in every system. If you feel ok, then the numbers you got are probably all wrong. Just see what happens over a few days

I actually tape my mouth shut.. I use 3M paper tape, micropore, the extra wide which I think is 2 inches. The plastic tapes and cloth tapes should be avoided. And no, it does not cause much of a problem to remove it. Also - the chin straps to me are useless - the air still comes out of my lips unles...
