Re: Using CPAP for 7 years but still have brain fog
Thank you all for reading my update and providing additional suggestions! Re: depression and anxiety, I definitely have suffered from both at varying times in my life, both before and after the sleep apnea and brain fog developed. I'm generally a positive person, but regular exercise, a good diet, a...

Re: Using CPAP for 7 years but still have brain fog
One suggestion I have is to get a recording pulse oximeter to see what your O2 sats are doing. Sometimes the data on the CPAP looks OK, but you may still be having desats. It's worth checking to see if that's the case and then maybe changing the pressure. Thanks for the suggestion. I recently did a...

Re: Using CPAP for 7 years but still have brain fog
Hi friend, when was your last thyroid blood labs? I know for a fact, Thyroid medications can cause undesired symptoms. Armour is combo med T3/T4, as you already know. Hypo/hyper can cause sleep issues. Brain fog is a symptom of both hyper/hypo sleep disturbance. My thyroid was removed 10 years ago....

Re: Using CPAP for 7 years but still have brain fog
Apologies for ghosting on my thread, but I went and tried many of the suggestions that you all recommended. Unfortunately, my sleep is still unrefreshing, but I'm getting closer to the "why". An update: My testosterone was low, around 220. I have since started injections and my numbers are in range ...

Re: Using CPAP for 7 years but still have brain fog
I usually awaken around 3-4 am (going to sleep around 11-midnight). The reasons vary: sometimes I wake up and can go right back to sleep, other times I get hunger pangs and get up and eat (not a great habit), other times I have to pee, and some days (especially after leg workouts), my RLS can wake m...

Re: Using CPAP for 7 years but still have brain fog
When we don't feel the good numbers we have to start looking for other potential culprits. First one to look at is medication side effects. Do you take any meds and if so, what? AM Vit D - 10k IU Armour Thyroid 60mg for Hypothyroidism Xyazal 5mg for allergies Vyvanse 30mg for ADHD and energy Breo E...

Using CPAP for 7 years but still have brain fog
Hi all, I've been meaning to post here asking for help for several years now, but my brain fog and related memory problems led me to keep forgetting. Basically, my doctors have no idea why I don't sleep well, despite low AHI every night. I'm hoping y'all see something they can't, or can at least hel...

Re: Increase in blood pressure variability due to CPAP therapy?
I don't have any specific recommendations but wanted to mention that CPAP can increase acid reflux in some people. This can then result in chronic post nasal drip and THAT can result in higher blood pressure. Have this problem, which is why I mention it. CPAP doesn't CAUSE acid reflux but can incre...

Re: Increase in blood pressure variability due to CPAP therapy?
From some of your answers, I think what you're trying to do is like trying to "nail Jell-O to a wall". Our blood pressure changes often during the days, nights, etc., and there needs to be a methodical, consistent routine one should follow. Too many things can affect our blood pressure, too. Den . ...

Re: Increase in blood pressure variability due to CPAP therapy?
Are you still using straight pressure (as per your previous threads)? Yes Are you checking your BP with a home machine, a machine in the doctor's office......or, are they checking it with a "cuff and stethoscope"? The measurements are all machine based, but a mix of in the Kaiser office and at the ...

Re: Increase in blood pressure variability due to CPAP therapy?
Are you watching your sodium? No, I had never had a problem until now, so I will be in the future Are you using a home monitor (I presume so, but....) and has it been calibrated properly? No, all those measurements are a combination of data from doctor's visits and blood donations Do you test at th...

Increase in blood pressure variability due to CPAP therapy?
Hi all, I am wondering if any of you have experienced increased variability in your blood pressure while starting out with CPAP therapy. I've been using it since November 11th, 2015, and since then, I have seen much more variation, and higher numbers than ever before. Ordinarily, I have pretty norma...

I definitely am feeling better with fewer arousals. Still have some optimizing to do around comfort and tube management. Thanks so much for the advice! You are literal lifesavers.

Re: Why doesn't my APAP work as well as the titration?
So it's a few days later, and I think the suggestion of a constant pressure is a good one! I've bee using 9 cmH2O, but after reviewing my Sleepyhead data, it looks like I might want to bump it to 10? Anything else y'all see in this data? http://i.imgur.com/9bscM62.png Before Constant pressure, avera...

Re: Why doesn't my APAP work as well as the titration?
That is really interesting information. I will give the constant pressure setting a try this evening and report back! Thank you!!!
