Is this normal in the beginning
I just started therapy in November. In the beginning I felt refreshed and rested with 6 hrs of sleep. Now the last month it seems like I'm sleeping longer and not feeling as good no matter how long I sleep. Ahi is generally under 1.5 each night. Do I just need to catch up on the years of missed sleep?

Re: Newbie - How Long Before I Start Feeling Better?
I guess I was a lucky one, I immediately noticed a difference the first night in the sleep lab. I'm just about 60 days into treatment and am tweaking my settings. First few weeks was anywhere from a ahi of 9 down to 0.4! Right now its around 0.4 -3.0 ahi. I've had 2 nights of perfect 0.0 ahi confirm...

Re: sleep apnea and it's effect on weight gain
There are a lot of theories, mostly put forward by non-medical people, but I have never once seen any kind of study. We fat people make all kinds of excuses about weight gain, but the reality is that we gained weight because we ate more than we should have. 100 lbs is a lot of weight to lose in a y...

sleep apnea and it's effect on weight gain
im just wondering if there is a direct correlation with sleep apnea and weight gain? i'm guessing i've had sleep apnea for roughly 10 yrs,at the age of 26, because that's when the extreme snoring and crappy sleep started. at that same time i began gaining a bunch of weight. before that up until i wa...

Re: climateline heated hose
ok, thanks for the info.OkyDoky wrote:You have a settings choice with the Climateline of Auto, which I use without a problem, or manual. It is the only hose on the Airsense 10 where you can set the humidity separate from the hose air temperature. So if you like a cool room but a warm nose it might do the trick.

Re: difference in ahi from a good night to a bad night
My sleep study report indicate a pressure of 14 cm/h2o and maybe a 15. I initially started out a 14, but bumped it up to 15. 15 seems to be my sweet spot. Don't discount how you feel. I would go with the "how you feel" over the numbers as long as the numbers are not really high. Sheriff ok, thanks ...

[quote="Julie"]I'm not sure what you're asking (if anything, vs just wanting to ruminate out loud). here was the two questions i asked in the very short thread i posted............... 1)"I'm just curious how much your AHI goes up on a bad sleep night"? 2)"How close was the Doc's setting that was pre...

difference in ahi from a good night to a bad night
i'm just curious how much your ahi goes up on a bad sleep night? i know sometimes our bodies just have those nights that aren't very good. overall my sleep is definitely improving, but i had a solid week of sleep under .60 and thought everything was good as far as pressure and all, but the last week...

Re: late night apneas and events in rem stage
ok. i definitely feel better than before cpap. i probably just have a few months of sleep to catch up on after 10 yrs of this condition, before i start to see more improvements. i can stay up past 8 now but if i lay down on the couch to watch tv, i'll be asleep in 5 minutes. it seemed at first afte...

Re: late night apneas and events in rem stage
ok cool! i'll remember that trick. how's the data look? so im pretty close to dialed in? yes, I'd do what Granny suggested and bump the min pressure by one, and give it a few days... most important thing is how you feel, not the exact numbers... which are already good. ok. i definitely feel better ...
