Re: Trekking with Z1 APAP at high altitude 7 nights on battery $875, 5.85 pounds
I just spent two weeks on a tidal island in Maine with no electricity. The island is accessible by 4WD at low tide; we hired someone to carry us onto the island, so no chance to recharge batteries on the island. Although less weight would be better, it is not as necessary as for backpacking. I used ...

Re: Flonase (fluticasone)
I have a substantial amount of nasal congestion, plus asthma. Flonase and nasacort are nasal spray steroids . Don't use both without talking to your doctor first. Afrin is very effective, but there is a rebound effect (after a couple of days use it causes congestion); don't use it for more than a fe...

Re: Reservoir Stuck
I sometimes have this problem with my airsense 10. The water chamber needed to be replaced for other reason; this made no difference. I currently have a rental unit and have the same problem. I'd say it sticks about 1/3 time. Perhaps once every two or three weeks I have to use a tool to pry it out.

Re: How to Solve Humidity Problems
Here is a discussion of room humidifiers: https://www.thespruce.com/humidifiers-ultrasonic-vs-evaporative-humidifiers-1908160 I recommend an evaporative room humidifier. I don't like the ultrasonic humidifiers spreading the powder from minerals in the water through the house. How much work it takes ...

Re: Travel CPAP and humidification?
jnk "If you had water sitting in the humidifier, you may still have gotten some passover humidity from it..." You're right; I didn't think about that until this morning.

Re: How to Solve Humidity Problems
The combination of dry cold weather and heated houses can make the humidity inside very low. Most people benefit from humidifiers day and night in these conditions. Too dry and you suffer; too humid and you can get mold growth or damage to the house. It would at least keep your CPAP water tank from ...

Re: Travel CPAP and humidification?
For part of last night I tried my CPAP with humidification set at 0. So, no humidity for 4.5 hours and the result was my nose was pretty dry when I got up during the night. I wonder how it would be after all night for 10 nights. It got much colder during the night, so I turned humidity up to 4 when ...

Re: Travel CPAP and humidification?
Thanks everyone. By leaving clothes home and going clothing optional and taking my regular cpap, there are several advantages: I'll probably sleep better; I'll be presenting a poster at a research conference; presenting naked will definitely draw more attention I'll reduce everything else to a not q...

Re: Travel CPAP and humidification?
Thanks Rick. I'll be in Germany end of Feb. and beginning of March. Typical weather there then is not so different from Massachusetts where I am. Temps at night are a little above freezing. I calculated from the typical outdoor dew point at night and a room heated to 65F that the relative humidity i...

Travel CPAP and humidification?
I will be travelling in Europe with a lot of walking carrying my luggage. The last time I took my regular CPAP and I have to reduce the amount of weight I'm carrying -- I am getting older. Most of the light travel CPAP machines I see either don't have humidification or are almost as heavy as my curr...

Re: Ivory Substitute
Dr Bronner's Unscented Pure-Castile Liquid Baby Soap is scent free; it's available at Whole Foods, many health food stores and online. Most other products have either fragrance or use cleaning chemicals that will trigger my asthma. Seventh Generation stuff does not live up to their advertising; most...
