Thank you for the attack, but no. I do.
I looked on eBay and am finding cushions for my mask at the $30-50 range. I look on here and it's $150. Thanks for not helping, though. It's not appreciated at all.

Buying Replacement Parts
It's about time for me to buy a new pillow for my mask (and maybe new straps, not sure) -- I'm just trying to figure out the best place to get these for the best value. I'm looking on eBay right now, but wanted to ping people here -- ideas?

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
So blood and urine checked out okay, doctor put me on a diuretic, and we'll see how that goes. Good news is, after a few nights of pulling the mask off while asleep (and putting it up neatly!) and getting very little actual rest -- I've got a temporary solution until I'm fully used to the mask -- I'...

Trying to find a store that carries it.OkyDoky wrote:You mentioned Biotene but Did you try the OraJel? I have both and Orajel For Dry Mouth lasts longer.
I know that CVS/Walgreens/HEB don't.
Haven't checked Target/Walmart yet. Ordering online makes it more cost-prohibitive due to shipping fees.

Calibration to make sure the setting sare right, I guess. I don't now. :/
I also know that I can't take this 'sleep for 2-3 hours, wake up with the mask off, drink water, put mask back on and not be able to sleep due to anxiety'. :/

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
Okay, I've got the mask issues mostly resolved. My big issue now is (BADADUM) Dry MOuth. I've tried an oral rinse, I've tried Biotine gel, I've tried turning the humidifier off with water in the tank -- I still wake up 2-3 hours in with a mouth like the Sahara. Obviously, to drink water I have to ta...

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
So here's a question -- my mask moves specifically when I exhale. I'll put it in place, have a good seal and turn on the air -- inhaling is fine, but when I exhale, it breaks the seal, which leads to the mask moving and leaks occurring. Any ideas to the cause of this?

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday to see if I can find out what caused the nighttime urination that is now water retaining. before cpap, what happens is you stop breathing, after a while your brain panics and sends out "SAVE ME!" hormones, your heart cranks up speed and pressure to try and g...

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
New fun -- I'm experiencing swelling in my lower legs, ankles and feet. I think it has to do with BIPAP -- specifically the fact that before BIPAP I was waking up 4-5 times a night, and urinating while I was up -- I'm no longer doing this, so I think I'm retaining water. I have a doctor's appointmen...

I'll look into that, thanks. The PadaCheek won't work with my mask, but the other one will.

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
Not arguing that. I'm wondering if too much pressure (i.e. my settings) might cause part of the leaks. I'm noticing that if I press my finger lightly against the mask, I get a great seal. Release, and *psssh*. Doesn't matter how I set or tighten the mask, and I've woken up a few times the past 2 nig...

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
First night had 62% leak.... My question is, I was feeling a steady stream of air coming out of the front of the mask. I read that this may be expected, but I wanted to ask on here. leaks aren't reported in a percentage. they're reported in liters per minute They might be reported that way in Sleep...

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
So I definitely have to adjust the mask or something. First night had 62% leak. Now, I know when I took my mask off one time, the machine didn't shut off, so I probably want to enable auto-shutoff. My question is, I was feeling a steady stream of air coming out of the front of the mask. I read that ...

Re: New Sleep Apnea Sufferer, Insurance Non-Helpful ---
I Have a feeling I'm going to need to get a prescription to ambien for a little wile.
Got to sleep, woke up about 2 hours later with dry mouth, got a drink of water -- then couldn't relax again with the mask on.
Nothing wrong with the machine, just me quietly freaking out.
