Re: Sleepyhead/Machine experiment. Interesting results!
https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resmed-airsense-10-clinical-guide.pdf Awake breathing irregularities (like holding your breath) make it difficult for the machine to distinguish what category to put the "event". I have done the same experiment and I have had it flag the "event" as a central. This ...

Sleepyhead/Machine experiment. Interesting results!
During the day today I decided to use my machine and mask to get a baseline read on leaks on my nasal pillows. I worked at getting the right size pillow to use by comparing the leak graph in Sleepyhead to make comparisons. It was very helpful. While on the machine I decided to try a little experimen...

Re: Switching to full face mask?
When I first started with CPAP I bought the Swift FX nasal pillows because I liked the unobtrusive nature vs a FFM. My problem with it was my mouth dropping open and air leaking out. I am not a mouth breather, my mouth would just drop open, air would leak out and wake me up. So I got a chin strap an...

Re: Misdiagnosed?? and need help.
If it were me I would start with easiest and simplest thing to try first and that is increase EPR....that is of course assuming I felt I was sleeping soundly for the bulk of the night and didn't have a lot of awakenings during the night. One change only at a time and give each change a few nights t...

Re: Misdiagnosed?? and need help.
Below is the Sleepyhead data from last night. Leaks are getting less but I still have work to do. May have to try a different mask. Notice I had 42 Centrals, 24 Hypopneas and 4 Obstructives. It would be helpful if someone could make a recommendation of what I might change in my settings to help? Inc...

Re: Newbie can't get control of mask leakage
Opening your mouth to exhale is also a leak. Could that be part of your problem? If you think it is, try using a chinstrap or tape your lips. I have a chin strap and still get mouth leaks. So I tried tape for two nights and that helped. But I can't fathom wearing tape over my mouth the rest of my l...

Re: pressure setting
Is there somewhere we can get information on how to interpret the Flow Limitation graph in Sleepyhead? I see it but really have no good sense of what it means.

Re: Misdiagnosed?? and need help.
Your leaks do look much better. Have you tried a liner? They help some people with leaks especially if your face gets oily and causes the mask to move. http://padacheek.com/ owner Karen is a member here and has some great products. I'll leave the graph interpretation to others. Hopefully its just s...

Re: Misdiagnosed?? and need help.
I am not being treated for restless leg but that issue is still up in the air. The sleep study doctor noted to my personal physician the following - "Would treat periodic limb movements if clinically indicated" Does your wife say your legs are still moving a lot at night when using the CPAP? It wou...

Re: Misdiagnosed?? and need help.
See below for last nights results. I used my Airfit F10 FFM. Leak rates much better than usual, but still had instances during the night of leaks. Not sure how to resolve those. Also note that I was awake pretty much the entire time between 4:30-5:30. Gave up and took of the mask, went back to sleep...

Re: Misdiagnosed?? and need help.
Ok, so tonight I am shaving my goatee and will attempt to get a good seal using my F10 FFM. I will keep my setting for now at a constant 8. I am currently not using the EPR feature. I emailed my doc today and am waiting for a response. I did talk to him last week about my issues and he wanted to giv...

Re: Misdiagnosed?? and need help.
Here is my Sleepyhead data from last night. I was using the Swift FX nasal pillows. I am also going to include a night when I used the Airfit F10 mask. Lot of leaks. I did not spend a lot of time awake last night, it was actually a better night than most. That being said, a good night for me is mayb...
